Padres infielder Ryan Jackson's season is in jeopardy after he underwent surgery on his injured right wrist Tuesday.

U-T San Diego reports he had surgery on the troublesome wrist, which has bothered him for much of the season. He was initially hoping to avoid going under the knife, but it proved to be a necessity after all. He is expected to be out until late August or early September, but the El Paso season ends Sept. 1. 

Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon returned to the lineup as expected Tuesday at Cincinnati after missing two straight starts due to a hip injury. Gordon, who pinch-hit Monday, is batting .300 (6 for 20) with two doubles, three runs, four RBI and two stolen bases in five June games.

"Dee was good. I think he was ready to play," manager Don Mattingly said Monday. "You just kind of figure with him getting another day, in this circumstance against a lefty, really just making sure he gets another day, making sure he's healthy."

Gordon missed the last two days with a minor hip injury. He has hit .284/.333/.392 with one home run, 18 RBI and 36 stolen bases in 232 at-bats.

Gordon, who was removed for a defensive replacement in the fourth inning after going 0 for 2 at the plate, is day-to-day with the issue. He has hit .284/.333/.392 with one home run, 18 RBI and 36 stolen bases in 232 at-bats.

Dodgers infielder Dee Gordon wreaked havoc with his speed Friday, in a 7-2 win over the Rockies.

Gordon was a surprise run producer in the win, as he drove in three runs. He brought in his first with a triple in the fifth, and plated two more with a sixth-inning single. He ultimately finished the game 3 for 4 with two runs scored and three drive in. He walked once, stole a base and slugged a pair of triples.

Dee extended his NL-lead with his 36th stolen base in just his 57th game of the season. He is hitting .287/.336/.397 in 230 at-bats. 

Diamondbacks shortstop Chris Owings put together one of the best performances of his career Thursday, in a 12-7 win over the Rockies.

Owings homered for the second time in the three game series in Colorado, driving in two runs with his eighth-inning shot to left. He added a couple more RBI, on a fourth-inning double and then a sacrifice fly in the sixth, finishing with four RBI while going 3 for 5 overall.

Owings has three games with at least three hits in his last seven games, and has raised his batting average nearly 30 points in that time.  He is now hitting .285/.323/.462 in 186 at-bats. 

Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford has been mired in a slump, but perhaps one swing of the bat Thursday in Cincinnati will push him out of it.

Crawford helped turn a close game into a rout with a three-run homer in the fourth inning. It was his first tater since May 14, but he has not managed a multi-hit game in two weeks as his average has tumbled from .255 to .234.

Dodgers infielder Dee Gordon went 2 for 4 with a run and a stolen base in his team's 2-1 loss to the White Sox Wednesday.

Gordon was the only Los Angeles player to get a hit in the low-scoring game, and his two-hit effort was just his second multi-hit game since May 10. He owns a .279/.327/.372 line with one home run, 15 RBI and 35 stolen bases in 226 at-bats.
