Jose Caballero 2B | NYY
Rays' Jose Caballero: Out of Tuesday's lineup
Caballero is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Miami.
Caballero started the past four games but will head to the bench Tuesday after he went 4-for-15 with a homer, two RBI, five runs and a stolen base during that stretch. Amed Rosario will take over at shortstop and bat sixth.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Abrams (shoulder) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Tuesday against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
The 23-year-old hasn't seen the field since Friday due to the shoulder issue but is back atop the lineup Tuesday for Washington. Abrams will look to get back on track now that he's healthy, as he went 0-for-14 with eight strikeouts in the three games preceding his absence.

Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Sitting out Tuesday
Rocchio is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Royals.
Rocchio has been one of the worst-hitting regulars in baseball this season, sporting a lowly .203/.308/.259 line. He'll receive a day off while Daniel Schneemann holds down shortstop.

Liover Peguero SS | PIT
Pirates' Liover Peguero: Recalled from Triple-A
The Pirates recalled Peguero from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Peguero was a somewhat surprising exclusion from the Pirates' Opening Day roster and wound up spending a couple months at Indianapolis before getting another shot with the big club. He's slashed .272/.341/.387 this year with Indianapolis, hitting two home runs and stealing five bases. Peguero will back up at both middle infield spots.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Swipes ninth bag
Lindor went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Nationals.
Hitting leadoff against Washington lefty MacKenzie Gore, Lindor got right back up after seeing an 11-game hitting streak snapped Sunday. The veteran shortstop has swiped three bags over the last five contests, giving him nine steals on the season, and over his last 15 games, he's slashing .339/.397/.516 with five doubles, two homers, seven runs and eight RBI as he puts a sluggish start to the season behind him.

Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Joining Triple-A roster soon
Lawlar (thumb) is expected to be activated from Triple-A Reno's 60-day injured list soon, Jesse Borek of MLB.com reports.
Lawlar is working his way back from surgery to repair a ruptured UCL tendon in his right thumb. He's played three rehab games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, going 1-for-7 with a 1:4 K:BB in 11 plate appearances. The 21-year-old will report to Reno in short order with the hope of playing his way back onto the major-league roster. Lawlar went just 4-for-31 during his brief time with the Diamondbacks last season but remains one of the elite prospects in baseball. Geraldo Perdomo (knee) should return from the 10-day injured list before Lawlar gets a look with Arizona, but Lawlar is the club's long-term answer at shortstop once the team decides he's ready to take the reins.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Moving rehab to Triple-A
Perdomo (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Wednesday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Perdomo was cleared for at-bats in the Arizona Complex League over the weekend, and the club has since determined that he's ready to face stronger competition. He'll likely play at least a few games at Triple-A before being activated from the 10-day injured list.

Kevin Newman 3B | LAA
Diamondbacks' Kevin Newman: Receiving breather Monday
Newman is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants.
Though he's coming off a productive weekend against the Mets in which he went 4-for-14 with a walk, a stolen base, three runs and an RBI in the four-game series, Newman will get a much-needed breather. Newman had started at shortstop in each of Arizona's last 21 games, but he'll give way to Blaze Alexander on Monday.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Remains out Monday
Abrams (shoulder) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.
Abrams reported improvement with his left shoulder Monday but still doesn't feel 100 percent when he's swinging a bat, per Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post. He'll miss out on a third consecutive start after he jammed the shoulder last week. With Abrams receiving more rest, Ildemaro Vargas will fill in at shortstop once again.

Edmundo Sosa 3B | PHI
Phillies' Edmundo Sosa: Could get looks in outfield
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Saturday that Sosa could be an option to see reps in the outfield once shortstop Trea Turner (hamstring) returns from the 10-day injured list, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Sosa has logged a total of just 5.1 innings of outfield in the majors and has never started a game in the outfield in the professional ranks. He's been outstanding at shortstop since Turner got hurt, slashing .310/.380/.606 with three home runs in 22 games, which has the Phillies contemplating other ways of keeping him in the lineup long term. The Phillies could have an opening in left field if Brandon Marsh (hamstring) needs to miss time, but Sosa will still be needed at shortstop until Turner is back.
