Kahlil Watson SS | CLE
Guardians' Kahlil Watson: Reaches Triple-A
Watson is slashing .248/.352/.467 with five home runs, eight steals, a 12 percent walk rate and a 25.6 percent strikeout rate in 32 games for Triple-A Columbus.
The former shortstop has seen at least six starts in all three outfield spots since getting promoted from Double-A Akron to Triple-A on July 22, with center field and left field being his top two positions. The lefty-hitting Watson has a fair amount of swing-and-miss in his game, as evidenced by his 17.4 percent swinging strike rate and 64.3 percent contact rate at Triple-A. He has a chance to be a power/speed fantasy outfielder who has a shorter prime and sits against most lefties. Cleveland will need to add Watson, who turns 23 in April, to the 40-man roster this offseason if it wishes to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Two extra-base hits in win
Story went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and a second run scored in Monday's 7-0 win over the Athletics.
Story logged his fourth multi-hit effort over seven games in September. He provided early offense with his first-inning solo shot, which was his fifth homer over his last 16 contests. The shortstop is up to 24 homers, 90 RBI, 82 runs scored, 26 doubles, 27 stolen bases and a .263/.310/.444 slash line through 141 contests as one of Boston's steadiest hitters.

Ryan Ritter SS | COL
Rockies' Ryan Ritter: Departs early Monday
Ritter exited Monday's game against the Dodgers due to an undisclosed injury, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.
Ritter swatted a leadoff double in the top of the ninth inning to break up a combined no-hit bid by Los Angeles, but he needed help off the field shortly after, appearing to injure himself diving back into second base. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time.

Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Avoids serious injury
Arias was removed from Monday's game against the Royals due to right wrist inflammation, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Stebbins notes that Arias was lifted from the matchup as a precaution, so it's fair to consider him day-to-day until more information on the injury comes to light. Angel Martinez could be in line for opportunities at shortstop if Arias is forced to sit for a few days.

Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Laces three hits in win
Rocchio went 3-for-4 with a walk, one RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 10-2 rout of the Royals.
The 24-year-old notched his second three-hit performance of the season, with the first coming July 8 at Houston. Rocchio, who entered the season with a .213 career batting average, has been much improved at the plate since the All-Star break, hitting .272 (43-for-158) with three homers, four steals, 28 RBI and 16 runs scored across 48 contests. Overall, the Venezuelan is now slashing .236/.294/.342 with 40 RBI and 27 runs scored in 317 total plate appearances.

Gabriel Arias SS | CLE
Guardians' Gabriel Arias: Exits early Monday
Arias (undisclosed) exited Monday's contest against the Royals in the sixth inning, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.
Arias struck out to end the fourth inning, ultimately prompting manager Stephen Vogt to come check on him. The infielder remained in the game for the fifth inning, but he did end up leaving the contest prior to the sixth. It's unclear what Arias is dealing with, and more information on his status will likely come in the near future. Angel Martinez replaced Arias in the field for the time being, batting seventh versus Kansas City.

Maximo Acosta SS | MIA
Marlins' Maximo Acosta: Drawing fourth straight start
Acosta will start at third base and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Nationals.
Acosta will be included in the lineup for the fourth straight game and will occupy third base for the second consecutive contest after being recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday. With Connor Norby (quadriceps) recently joining Graham Pauley (oblique) on the shelf, Acosta looks like he'll get the chance to serve as the Marlins' primary third baseman until the team reclaims some health. Through his first 37 big-league plate appearances, Acosta is slashing .206/.270/.500 with three home runs, one double and four RBI.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: Recovering from Grade 1 strain
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that Turner was placed on the injured list Monday after the shortstop was diagnosed with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain following an MRI, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Though the injury Turner sustained in Sunday's loss to the Marlins appears likely to keep him out for longer than the minimum 10 days, Thomson noted that the hamstring issue is less severe than the Grade 2 strain that the three-time All-Star suffered a season ago, and the Phillies are hoping that he'll be ready to return before the start of the postseason. Edmundo Sosa is expected to serve as the primary replacement at shortstop while Turner is on the shelf; Sosa will occupy the position and will bat eighth in Monday's series opener with the Mets.

Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Remaining out of lineup
Witt (back) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.
Maikel Garcia will get the call at shortstop for the series opener while Witt takes a seat for the third day in a row as he continues to manage low back spasms. Per Anne Rogers of MLB.com, Witt said his back felt "better" after he took part in some running and fielding work earlier Monday, and he plans to wait and see how he responds to those activities before potentially taking some swings Tuesday. The Royals are still viewing Witt as day-to-day and seem optimistic that he'll avoid a stint on the injured list.
