White Sox's Paul DeJong: Clubs homer Tuesday

DeJong went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Mariners.

DeJong is up to 13 homers on the year, six of which he's hit over his last 11 contests. He went back-to-back with Andrew Vaughn in the third inning of Tuesday's contest, though that's where the White Sox's scoring ended. DeJong is up to a .240/.290/.490 slash line with 28 RBI, 28 runs scored, two stolen bases and 11 doubles over 62 contests while seeing a starting role at shortstop.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Still not starting Tuesday

Seager (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.

Despite a team day off Monday, Seager's absence will extend to four games as he continues to nurse the hamstring strain he suffered Wednesday versus Detroit. Ezequiel Duran will take over at shortstop and bat seventh Tuesday.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Activated from IL

The Diamondbacks reinstated Perdomo (knee) from the injured list Tuesday.

Perdomo suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee in early April, but after roughly two months of recovery and a seven-game rehab assignment, he's ready to return to Arizona's lineup. The 24-year-old infielder went 3-for-22 with four RBI during his assignment, playing three games in the Arizona Complex League and four games with Triple-A Reno. Despite his struggles, he figures to start regularly at shortstop for the D-backs. Pavin Smith was optioned to Reno in a corresponding move.

  • Romy Gonzalez 2B | BOS

Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: Rehab stint pushed back

Gonzalez (hamstring) won't start his rehab assignment Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Gonzalez was scheduled to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Worcester, but he's still in Boston as the Red Sox start a three-game homestand against the Phillies on Tuesday night. At this point, it's unclear when Gonzalez will head to Worcester, but he'll likely require a brief minor-league stint as part of his rehab from a strained left hamstring.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Tigers' Javier Baez: Placed on IL with back injury

The Tigers placed Baez on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with lumbar spine inflammation, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Baez has evidently been bothered by the back issue off and on all season and is headed to Florida to meet with a doctor. He's expected to be out more than the minimum 10 days, though a clearer picture regarding his timetable could be available after the exam. Zach McKinstry and Ryan Kreidler are expected to share duties at shortstop while Baez is on the shelf.

  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Getting breather Tuesday

Henderson is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Atlanta, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Henderson will get his first day off of the season after appearing in each of the Orioles' first 65 games of 2024. The breather comes on the 12th day of a streak of 17 straight games. Jorge Mateo (concussion) was activated from the 7-day IL and will start at shortstop and bat sixth.

  • Darell Hernaiz SS | ATH

Athletics' Darell Hernaiz: Sheds walking boot

Hernaiz (ankle) is out of his walking boot and will begin a strength and fitness program this week, MLB.com reports.

The 22-year-old has been making very slow progress from his severe ankle sprain, but it appears his recovery is starting to gather some momentum just over a month after he initially suffered the injury. Hernaiz's next step after the strength and fitness program will be to resume baseball activities, with the start date for that benchmark still to be determined.

The shortstop added a stolen base in the victory, giving him 14 on the campaign. Kim has struggled at the plate for much of the early part of the season but may be starting to heat up, going 4-for-12 with two homers, seven RBI and four walks over his past four contests.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Homers and steals in win

Adames went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a stolen base in a 3-1 win against the Blue Jays on Monday.

Adames singled and stole second base in the second inning, gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead on a solo homer in the fourth and added some insurance on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. Adames opened June in a 4-for-28 slump through eight games, but he now has double-digit home runs and stolen bases following Monday's outburst. On the season, Adames is slashing .248/.328/.433 with 10 home runs, 45 RBI and 10 steals while primarily hitting cleanup.
