  • Orioles' Gunnar Henderson: Cracks leadoff homer in win

Henderson went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three runs scored in Monday's 5-2 win over the Rays.

Henderson crushed the first pitch of the game 430 feet for his 21st homer of the season and ninth career leadoff blast. The Orioles shortstop has been scorching hot in June, hitting .350 (14-for-40) with three homers, 13 runs scored and five RBI this month. Overall, Henderson is slashing .274/.375/.599 in 296 plate appearances this season.

Mariners' Dylan Moore: Placed on paternity list

Moore was placed on the paternity list ahead of Monday's matchup with the White Sox.

Moore was originally set to start at second base and bat ninth in Monday's series opener with the White Sox, but he will now be away from the team for up to three games. In his absence, Ryan Bliss could see some extra work at second base while Leonardo Rivas was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma to replace Moore on the major-league roster.

  • Leonardo Rivas SS | SEA

Mariners' Leonardo Rivas: Back in big leagues

Rivas was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.

Rivas was optioned back to the minors May 20 after struggling to see consistent playing time, but he'll return to the big leagues following the placement of Dylan Moore on the paternity list. Rivas could share time at the keystone with Ryan Bliss over the next few days until Moore is back with the team. Bliss will draw the start at second base Monday night.

  • Dylan Moore LF | PHI

Mariners' Dylan Moore: Paternity leave coming soon

The Mariners are expected to place Moore on the paternity leave list, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Moore is in Monday's lineup against the White Sox, so it appears the move won't occur until after the game. Leonardo Rivas and Jhonathan Diaz have joined the Mariners' taxi squad and it sounds one of them will join the active roster as Moore's replacement.

  • Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Back in action for Reno this week

Triple-A Reno will reinstate Lawlar (thumb) from its 60-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against Sacramento, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.

Lawlar has been on the shelf all season at Reno after he suffered a torn ligament in his right thumb late in spring training that required surgery. The 21-year-old shortstop looks to be operating at full strength again after he recently wrapped up a seven-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League in which he slashed .320/.438/.440. Lawlar floundered in his first taste of the majors in 2023, but he's still viewed as the organization's long-term answer at shortstop and should earn another opportunity with the big club in 2024 if he performs well with Reno.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Activation expected Tuesday

The Diamondbacks are expected to activate Perdomo (knee) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.

Perdomo has been sidelined since early April following surgery on his right meniscus, but he's ready to rejoin the big club after seven rehab games, the last four of which came at Triple-A Reno. Gambadoro relays that the Diamondbacks aren't prepared to remove the struggling Eugenio Suarez from the roster to make room for Perdomo. Kevin Newman or Blaze Alexander could be at risk of losing their spots on the active roster, though Newman would have to be exposed to waivers if he's sent out of Arizona in a corresponding transaction.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

Marlins' Tim Anderson: Returns from bereavement list

The Marlins activated Anderson (personal) from the bereavement list Monday.

Anderson missed the weekend series against the Guardians but will be back in action as the Marlins travel to New York to play the Mets beginning Tuesday. With a .188/.221/.206 slash line, Anderson has been one of the worst-hitting regulars in baseball this season.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Giants' Nick Ahmed: Working out after brief shutdown

Ahmed (wrist) resumed full baseball activities at the Giants' spring training complex in Arizona over the weekend and could soon head back out on a minor-league rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Ahmed was placed on the 10-day injured list May 10 with a left wrist sprain but was cleared to head out on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on June 1. The veteran shortstop appeared in just one game, however, before he experienced a setback with his wrist, resulting in him being shut down for about a week. Given the brevity of his shutdown period, Ahmed shouldn't have to wait too long before rejoining a minor-league affiliate, but his return from the IL could still be a week away, if not longer. Brett Wisely and Casey Schmitt should continue to hold down the fort at shortstop for the Giants until Ahmed is ready for activation.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Pops sixth homer

Crawford went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in an extra-inning win over the Royals on Sunday.

Crawford got the Mariners off on the right foot with his leadoff solo shot, his second in as many games. The veteran shortstop extended his hitting streak to six games in the process, making it arguably his best offensive stretch of a season that now sees him carrying a .226/.308/.396 slash line through 42 games.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Collects steal No. 10

Abrams went 1-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over Atlanta.

The shortstop came through with one of the big blows in a seven-run fourth inning for the Nationals, smashing a bases-loaded double into the right-field corner, and Abrams then promptly stole third base. The two-bagger was his 12th of the season while the steal was his 10th, and Abrams might be coming out of his prolonged slump -- he's hit safely in four straight games and five of the last six with three extra-base hits (two doubles and a homer), two steals, three runs and five RBI.
