  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Cubs' Dansby Swanson: Returns for London Series

Swanson (wrist) is starting at shortstop and hitting fifth Saturday against the Cardinals, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Swanson was held out of Wednesday's game against the Pirates, but after three days off he is able to return to the lineup. He has at least one hit in eight of his last 10 starts and will take his customary spot in the heart of the Cubs' lineup.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Hits eighth homer

Bogaerts went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Friday's 13-3 victory over Washington.

This was just Bogaerts' second homer since the month of April, when he hit six. This hasn't been the best year to roster him in fantasy, as his current slash line of .259/.343/.395 is the worst he's had in years. However, the former Red Sox star still has plenty of time to heat up as the season reaches its midpoint.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Knocks in lone run in return

Anderson (shoulder) went 0-for-3 with a sacrifice fly in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Red Sox.

Anderson was out of action for a week with a sore shoulder, but he was able to return and play a full game at second base. While the soreness isn't fully gone, it appears he may be able to tough it out for now. He's struggled of late, going just 2-for-26 (.077) over his last eight contests. It's unclear if Anderson will log enough time at second base to earn eligibility there in fantasy before returning to his usual position at shortstop.

  • David Hamilton 3B | MIL

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Swipes bag in win

Hamilton went 0-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 3-1 win over the White Sox.

Hamilton has already racked up two steals in three games at the major-league level after logging 27 thefts in 52 contests for Triple-A Worcester. The shortstop has gone 1-for-5 with a walk and two runs scored. He has a chance to carve out a strong-side platoon role while Pablo Reyes (abdomen) is on the injured list for the next 10 days at a minimum.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Homers twice, drives in five

Adames went 4-for-5 with a double, two homers and five total RBI in Friday's 7-1 win over the Guardians.

The 27-year-old started the scoring with an RBI single in the opening frame and followed up with homers in the sixth and ninth innings to power Milwaukee's offense. Adames entered Friday's contest with a .529 OPS, one homer and two RBI in 13 games since returning from a concussion June 7, so the offensive outburst was a welcome sight. The performance improved his season slash line to .216/.294/.398, and he now has 12 long balls, 34 RBI and 34 runs through 65 games.

  • Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Electrifies with first career cycle

De La Cruz hit for the cycle Friday, going 4-for-5 with a solo homer, four total RBI, three runs scored and a steal in an 11-10 victory over Atlanta.

The 21-year-old became the first Reds player to hit for the cycle since Eric Davis in 1989. He added a steal for good measure, keeping him perfect on the basepaths at 7-for-7 in steal attempts. Friday's game was just De La Cruz's 15th in the majors, but he's already emerging as one of the club's leaders with a .361/.418/.656 slash line and all kinds of flare and personality to go with it. The Reds have won 12 straight games and De La Cruz has been a driving force, as he has more than lived up to the hype since his arrival.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Starting at second Friday

Anderson (shoulder) was added to the White Sox's lineup for Friday's game against Boston.

Anderson was initially held out of Friday's lineup in favor of Zach Remillard, but Anderson officially will start for the first time since Saturday. His shoulder is still limiting his ability to throw -- hence his start at second base -- but he should still be healthy enough to resume starting every day. The 30-year-old infielder is slashing .249/.290/.292 through 221 plate appearances this year.

  • Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Sitting again versus lefty

Marcano isn't starting Friday against the Marlins, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Friday marks the third straight game Marcano will begin in the dugout, although two have been against lefty starters. Rodolfo Castro will start at shortstop and bat sixth.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Still out Friday

Anderson (shoulder) is not in Friday's lineup against the Red Sox.

He originally injured his right shoulder a week ago and most recently appeared off the bench Tuesday against the Rangers. Elvis Andrus will start at shortstop while Zach Remillard will start at the keystone.

  • Pablo Reyes RF | SD

Red Sox's Pablo Reyes: Placed on 10-day IL

Reyes (abdomen) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Reyes will head to the injured list following an early departure Thursday with what is now understood to be an abdominal strain. David Hamilton is starting at shortstop Friday, and he could split time with Enrique Hernandez while Reyes is on the shelf.
