Casey Schmitt LF | SF
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Walks twice in return
Schmitt (arm) went 0-for-1 with two walks in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Padres.
Schmitt was out of the starting lineup for a couple of games after he was hit by a pitch Sunday. He's drawn walks in four of his last six plate appearances, though he's gone just 3-for-22 since June 12. Prior to Monday, Schmitt had walked just one time in his first 35 big-league games. Schmitt will likely continue competing for playing time on the left side of the infield, primarily challenging J.D. Davis and Brandon Crawford for their spots in the lineup. Schmitt owns a .262/.302/.377 slash line with two home runs, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and two stolen bases through 139 plate appearances.

Anthony Volpe SS | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Snaps power outage Wednesday
Volpe went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Seattle.
Volpe had gone over two weeks without a long ball coming into the contest, but he was able to halt that drought with a solo shot in the seventh inning. It was his 10th homer of the season, and with 15 thefts he is one of 14 major-leaguers so far this season to accumulate double-digit long balls and steals. Volpe is still hitting a paltry .194 overall, but he's been showing some progress of late, batting .272 (6-for-22) with four extra-base hits over his past seven games.

Ezequiel Duran SS | TEX
Rangers' Ezequiel Duran: Homer, steal in win
Duran went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.
Duran has multiple hits in three of his last four games. His homer was his second in 15 contests in June, while the steal was his first since May 19. The 24-year-old has solid numbers on the year with a .319/.355/.524 slash line, nine homers, four steals, 30 RBI and 29 runs scored through 200 plate appearances. Duran has seen most of his playing time in left field lately, and if Travis Jankowski's undisclosed injury from Wednesday proves serious, Duran could get a bit more job security.

Casey Schmitt LF | SF
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Back in lineup
Schmitt (arm) is starting at second base Wednesday against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Schmitt was held out of the Giants' lineup for the past two games after getting hit in the arm by a pitch Sunday, but he was able to hit in both games off the bench. He now rejoins the lineup and will bat ninth Wednesday.

Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: On bench Wednesday
Rojas is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Angels.
Mookie Betts will start at shortstop and bat leadoff with Jason Heyward handling right field and hitting sixth. Rojas has slashed .229/.264/.275 with zero home runs and five stolen bases through 48 games (163 plate appearances) this season for the Dodgers.

David Hamilton 3B | MIL
Red Sox's David Hamilton: Called up from Worcester
Boston recalled Hamilton from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
The 25-year-old can provide infield depth as Pablo Reyes works through some abdominal discomfort, and he would take on considerable fantasy appeal if Reyes requires a trip to the 10-day injured list. Hamilton was sporting an .825 OPS with 11 home runs and 27 stolen bases through 52 games this season at the Triple-A level after tallying 70 steals in 119 games last season at Double-A. He'll be making his MLB debut when he first appears in a game for the Red Sox.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Out again Wednesday
Anderson (shoulder) is absent from the lineup again Wednesday versus the Rangers.
Anderson came off the bench for a pinch-hitting appearance Tuesday, but he'll miss a fourth straight start as he recovers from a bout of right shoulder soreness. Elvis Andrus is playing shortstop for the White Sox and Zach Remillard will handle second base.

Pablo Reyes RF | SD
Red Sox's Pablo Reyes: Out Wednesday vs. Twins
Reyes (abdomen) is not in the starting lineup versus the Twins on Wednesday, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
Reyes was scratched from the lineup against Minnesota on Tuesday, and he'll miss at least one more start while he recovers. Boston believes that the shortstop won't need a trip on the injured list, and he's considered day-to-day at this point. Enrique Hernandez is handling shortstop duties and hitting ninth in Reyes' absence.

Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Athletics' Aledmys Diaz: On bench Wednesday
Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.
Diaz had started at shortstop for three of the past four games, but he'll cede the position to Tyler Wade on Wednesday. With Nick Allen having been optioned to the minors and with Kevin Smith (back) now on the injured list, Diaz looks like he could receive another look in a near-everyday role in the Oakland middle infield.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Out of lineup Wednesday
Crawford (shoulder) is not in the starting lineup versus the Yankees on Wednesday, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.
Crawford left Tuesday's game versus the Yankees with a right shoulder contusion, and while X-rays did return negative, the veteran shortstop will miss at least one more game with the injury. Jose Caballero is leading off and playing shortstop while Crawford sits, and Kolten Wong will get the start at second base while hitting ninth.
