Swanson went 2-for-5 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI in Saturday's loss to the Reds.

Swanson showed off his speed and recorded his second triple of the season. The shortstop recorded his first multi-hit game since May 15 and is now batting .264 with a .782 OPS in his first season with the Cubs. He's been solid -- if unspectacular -- so far.

Schmitt is receiving treatment on his ankle after rolling it during Saturday's game against the Brewers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Schmitt was able to stay in the game, but it was clearly bothering the infielder for the remainder of Saturday's win for the Giants over the Brewers. He should be considered day-to-day at this stage.

Chang's (wrist) rehab assignment has been paused after he experienced pain in his hand during his first rehab game, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Chang fractured his left hamate bone in late April and was expected to miss six weeks. His rehab assignment was delayed earlier in the week, and it seemingly should have been delayed a bit further, as he lasted just one game before suffering a setback. The issue doesn't seem to be a major one, however, so he could resume his rehab next week.

Crawford is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

A three-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, Crawford is batting just .172/.252/.323 so far to begin his age-36 season. He'll sit out a third consecutive game against a right-handed pitcher, so Crawford looks as though he'll be phased out as the primary shortstop in favor of Casey Schmitt. Brett Wisely is at second base again Saturday in place of Thairo Estrada (wrist), who was placed on the 10-day injured list.

The Rangers placed Duran on the 10-day injured list Saturday with mild right oblique discomfort.

Duran was already set to miss a third consecutive game Saturday in Baltimore due to the injury, and with his injury evidently being viewed as more than a day-to-day concern, the Rangers opted to deactivate him. The transaction is retroactive to Wednesday, meaning that the 24-year-old is eligible to return June 3. Josh Smith or the newly activated Travis Jankowski (hamstring) are the top candidates to replace Duran's spot in the Rangers' everyday lineup.

Duran (rib) is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Orioles.

Duran will miss a third consecutive game as he nurses a rib injury. Manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday that a decision will be made in the next day or so regarding a potential stint on the injury list for the 24-year-old. Robbie Grossman will draw the start at designated hitter while Josh Smith remains in the lineup in left field, batting seventh against Baltimore.

Adames (head) was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Saturday.

Adames was leaning on the dugout railing Friday when he was struck in the head by a foul ball off the bat of teammate Brian Anderson. He suffered a concussion, but the good news is that Adames was alert and responsive throughout the evening, and he did not suffer any fractures. Andruw Monasterio was called up from Triple-A Nashville to provide depth to the infield while Adames recovers after the freak accident.

Baez will sit Saturday against the White Sox.

Baez finds himself on the bench for the first time in exactly a month. He's hit .238/.279/.352 since that time, a slight improvement at best on his .234/.294/.286 line up to that point. Zack Short will get the nod at shortstop.

Correa is not in the starting lineup Saturday against Toronto.

Correa made his return to the lineup Friday after missing a few games with foot and heel discomfort, which is now understood to be plantar fasciitis. The 28-year-old went 1-for-3 with two walks in Friday's 3-1 loss and will be replaced at shortstop by Kyle Farmer, who will bat eighth versus the Blue Jays.

Witt went 4-for-5 with a double, two home runs, three runs, five RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 12-10 loss to the Royals.

The 22-year-old very nearly willed Kansas City to a win, taking Patrick Corbin deep in the sixth inning and going yard off Erasmo Ramirez in the seventh, but the Royals' bullpen poured more gas on the fire than Witt could put out. He's enjoying a strong finish to May, slashing .300/.321/.540 over the last 12 games with three homers, three steals, 10 runs and 10 RBI.
