Murakami went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts during the White Sox's 2-0 loss to the Royals on Saturday.

Murakami opened his first MLB season strongly with three home runs in three consecutive games and was up to four homers and seven RBI through eight contests. However, he has cooled off at the plate of late, going 1-for-20 with six walks, three runs scored and nine strikeouts in his past seven games. These types of growing pains are to be expected for Murakami, but he'll have plenty of runway to work on his game after signing a two-year, $34 million contract with the White Sox in December.

Garcia went 2-for-4 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run scored during the Royals' 2-0 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Garcia gave the Royals an immediate 1-0 lead after taking the first pitch he saw from Erick Fedde deep to left-center field for a leadoff homer, and the former came across to score again in the eighth on a sacrifice fly from Vinnie Pasquantino. Garcia has collected at least one hit in 12 of his first 15 games of the season and is slashing .328/.394/.517 with one steal, five doubles, two home runs and eight RBI through 66 plate appearances.

Sousa (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday.

Sousa opened the regular season on the injured list after suffering a left oblique strain during his final spring training appearance. It's unclear how many rehab outings he'll need, but the Astros never imagined the southpaw needing much more than a minimum-length IL stint, so he could be added to the big-league bullpen relatively soon.

Fedde (0-3) took the loss against the Royals on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out four across five innings.

Fedde put the White Sox on the back foot after yielding a leadoff homer to Maikel Garcia. Fedde managed to settle in and kept the Royals off the board for the rest of his outing, but he was unable to avoid the loss after receiving no run support from his teammates. He tossed 53 strikes on 85 pitches while generating eight whiffs and seven flyouts. Fedde has yielded three earned runs or less in each of his first three starts of the season and has a 3.38 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB across 16 innings, yet he's still been saddled with the loss in each outing. He's slated to start next week on the road against the Athletics.

Walker isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game versus the Mariners, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Walker went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Friday's series opener, breaking what had been a six-game hitting streak. He'll get a day off Saturday while Isaac Paredes gets the nod at first base and bats third.

Erceg earned his fifth save the season in Saturday's 2-0 win over the White Sox, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

Erceg was brought out for the ninth to protect the Royals' two-run lead, and he needed only 12 pitches (seven strikes) to close things out for Kansas City. He is up to five saves on the year, which is tied with David Bednar and Jhoan Duran for most in the majors. Erceg has a 2.70 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 6.2 innings to open the 2026 campaign. He may not be available for Sunday's series finale, given that he pitched both Friday and Saturday.

Donovan (illness) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Houston.

Leo Rivas will pick up another start at the hot corner Saturday, but Donovan went through infield drills before the game and is expected to return to the lineup for Sunday's contest, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com.

Wacha (2-0) earned the win against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out seven across eight scoreless innings.

It was another spectacular performance from Wacha, who tossed only 88 pitches (63 strikes) across his eight innings of work, generating 15 whiffs and 10 flyouts in the process. The veteran right-hander has logged quality starts in each of his three outings this season and has a 0.43 ERA. 0.95 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB over 21 innings. Wacha will look to extend his winning streak to three games in his next start, which is slated for next week on the road against the Yankees.

Langford (quadriceps) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Imaging on Langford's quad revealed a small strain, per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News, but the 24-year-old is optimistic that he'll avoid a stint on the injured list and could return to the starting nine within a few days. In the meantime, Ezequiel Duran will start in left field Saturday and bat second.

Jansen isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Jansen has notched a hit in each of Texas' last two games but will retreat to the dugout to begin Saturday's contest. Kyle Higashioka will handle catching duties instead and bat seventh.
