The Yankees recalled De Los Santos from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

He will give the bullpen a fresh arm after the Yankees' relief corps was needed for 4.1 innings in Tuesday's win over the Rangers. De Los Santos holds a 3.35 ERA and 29:19 K:BB over 37.2 innings since the start of the 2025 campaign with the Yanks.

The Tigers recalled Jung from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday. He'll start at designated hitter and bat ninth in the Tigers' series finale against the Red Sox.

Detroit had optioned Jung to Triple-A on Sunday, but he'll rejoin the big club just three days later after Gleyber Torres (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list. Capable of playing first base, second base and third base, Jung will shore up the Tigers' infield depth but isn't expected to be in line for steady at-bats during his upcoming stint in the majors.

The Twins acquired Gomez from the Rays on Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations.

Gomez is out of minor-league options, so he'll be added to the Minnesota bullpen. The 26-year-old holds a 6.23 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 13:10 K:BB through 17.1 innings at the big-league level in 2026.

The Tigers placed Torres on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a left oblique strain.

Torres had been out of the lineup for the last three games due to what the Tigers had been referring to as left side tightness, but follow-up tests evidently confirmed that the veteran infielder has been tending to a mild oblique strain. His IL stint will be retroactive to Monday, but given the volatile recovery timelines for oblique strains, Torres is far from a lock to be activated when first eligible May 14. Detroit recalled Jace Jung from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move, but Hao-Yu Lee and Zach McKinstry are more likely to serve as Torres's primary replacements at second base.

The Athletics optioned Ferguson to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Ferguson's stint in the majors lasted just three days, with the right-handed reliever getting touched up for four earned runs in 1.1 innings in his lone appearance during Tuesday's 9-1 loss to the Phillies. He'll be replaced in the bullpen by right-hander Brooks Kriske, who was recalled from Las Vegas.

Ryan (elbow) is listed as the Twins' scheduled starting pitcher for Saturday's game in Cleveland, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Ryan threw only nine pitches in his last outing Sunday against the Blue Jays before being removed due to right elbow soreness. After an MRI returned negative, Ryan was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, and he must have gotten through that workout without issue in order to be cleared to start Saturday. Ryan has collected a 3.72 ERA and 40:10 K:BB over 38.2 innings this season.

Rodriguez is considered day-to-day with a muscle strain in his thumb but could return to the Triple-A St. Paul lineup within a few days, Theodore Tollefson of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

He took batting practice over the weekend, which bodes well for his chances of avoiding an extended absence. Rodriguez, who left St. Paul's game May 1 with the injury, had a right thumb sprain in 2024 that only cost him a week of action, although he has missed significant time due to various ailments throughout his career. He is slashing .247/.417/.506 with six home runs and three steals in 25 games, and as a member of the Twins' 40-man roster, Rodriguez could get the call to the majors at any point once he's healthy.

Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Though it's not unusual for him to hit the bench against lefties like the White Sox's Noah Schultz, Frazier is also beginning to see his playing time against right-handed pitching fall by the wayside. Frazier has been on the bench for three of the Angels' last four matchups versus righties, with Vaughn Grissom getting a longer look as a near-everyday player. Frazier's downturn in opportunities comes while the 34-year-old has batted just .154 with a 37 percent strikeout rate over his last 12 games.

Quero is on the bench for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

After going 0-for-4 with an RBI and two strikeouts Tuesday, Quero will head to the bench once again for the White Sox. Drew Romo will start his third game in the past four days behind the plate. The 23-year-old Quero opened the campaign as Chicago's primary backstop with Kyle Teel (hamstring) on the injured list, but his struggles have opened the door for Romo.

Grissom will start at second base and bat third in Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

The 25-year-old will occupy a prominent spot in the order for the series finale while the White Sox send lefty Noah Schultz to the hill. While Grissom has been a regular presence in the lineup against lefties since being activated from the injured list April 11, he's starting to gain some traction in the lineup against right-handed pitching, too. Grissom has started at second base over Adam Frazier in three of the Angels' last four matchups with righties and is holding down a .280/.356/.420 slash line with a 7:4 BB:K over 59 plate appearances on the season. Grissom hasn't yet produced much in the way of counting statistics with one home run, zero steals, seven RBI and six runs in 17 games, but the excellent approach he's displayed at the plate could lead to better production in a near-everyday role.
