Martinez (foot) started in right field and went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in a rehab game for Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.

Martinez made the second appearance of his rehab appearance and played six innings in the outfield. The Guardians plan to gradually ramp Martinez up to playing a full nine-inning game during his rehab assignment, and he may also need to play on consecutive days before he's deemed ready to return from the 10-day injured list. Martinez has been on the shelf since June 16 due to a non-displaced fracture in his left foot.

Chisholm went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

After going 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in a losing effort during Sunday's matinee, Chisholm blasted a go-ahead solo homer in the eighth inning to lift the Yankees in the nightcap. The second baseman is hitting .239/.280/.435 with two homers, five RBI, seven runs and two stolen bases across 13 games in July. After a standout first full season in pinstripes in 2025, the 28-year-old has taken a step back in 2026, slashing .224/.302/.403 with 14 homers, 38 RBI, 49 runs and 26 stolen bases across 94 contests.

Grisham went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Dodgers.

Grisham crushed a Yoshinobu Yamamoto fastball into the second deck in right field for a solo homer in the fourth inning of Sunday's matinee. The center fielder entered the twin bill having gone 9-for-37 (.243) with five extra-base hits (two homers), five RBI, nine runs and a stolen base in 11 games since returning from the injured list. After going 0-for-5 in the nightcap, Grisham's season line sits at .230/.332/.419 with 11 homers, 41 RBI, 50 runs and seven stolen bases across 79 contests.

Bednar (4-3) earned the win in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Dodgers. He allowed no hits and a walk while striking out two over 1.2 scoreless innings.

The right-hander entered with one out in the eighth inning of a tied game and closed out the frame. After Jazz Chisholm launched a go-ahead solo homer in the bottom half of the inning, Bednar retired the side in the ninth to secure the victory and earn his fourth win. The 31-year-old has been lights-out for an extended stretch, riding a 20-inning scoreless streak dating back to May 22. Overall, Bednar owns a 2.59 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 47:13 K:BB with 18 saves across 41.2 innings in 2026.

Yarbrough did not factor into the decision in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader, allowing two hits and no walks over 2.2 scoreless innings in a 2-1 win over the Dodgers. He struck out one.

The southpaw started Sunday night's bullpen game and did his job well, holding the Dodgers scoreless before giving way to Paul Blackburn with two outs in the third inning. Yarbrough entered Sunday with a 5.27 ERA and 1.39 WHIP across his previous 10 appearances spanning 13.2 innings. On the year, the 34-year-old owns a 2-0 record with a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 28:16 K:BB and two saves across 39.2 innings while operating primarily as a middle reliever.

Montgomery went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Montgomery took Trey Yesavage yard in the sixth inning to tally his 24th home run of the season. He had been in the midst of a short power drought, as he entered Sunday's contest having only one extra-base hit across his last 31 at-bats. Even with that slow stretch, Montgomery has an impressive .253 ISO and remains an elite source of power.

Buxton (hip) is on track to return from the 10-day injured list during the Twins' series versus the Guardians that begins Monday, Bobby Nightengale Jr. of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

After landing on the IL on July 7 due to an aggravation of a prior right hip injury, Buxton remained out for the Twins' first series coming out of the All-Star break against the Cubs over the weekend, but he was able to hit for the past few days and took part in defensive drills Saturday. The Twins' upcoming four-game series with the Guardians might help inform whether they fall into the buyers or sellers camp ahead of the Aug. 3 trade deadline, and having Buxton available for any of those contests would be a major boon.

Celesten was promoted to Double-A Arkansas on Sunday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Celesten will move up a level in the Mariners' minor-league system after he posted a .314 average with 13 home runs, 52 RBI, 64 runs scored and 18 stolen bases over 309 at-bats in 80 contests with High-A Everett so far this year. The 20-year-old is considered to be one of Seattle's top overall prospects, and he'll look to maintain his impressive level of production with Arkansas.

Matthews (4-7) took the loss Sunday against the Cubs, allowing 10 runs (eight earned) on nine hits and three walks while striking out four over three innings.

Chicago's lineup jumped on Matthews early, as Alex Bregman opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the first. After a one-run second, Nico Hoerner cleared the bases with a three-run triple in the third. The right-hander had surrendered seven runs through three innings, but he returned for the fourth and failed to record an out before four straight Cubs reached and two more runs crossed the plate, ending his outing. The eight earned runs were a season high for Matthews. After posting a 4.91 ERA over his final six starts before the All-Star break, Sunday's performance did little to inspire confidence heading into the second half. Matthews will carry a 5.40 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 58:21 K:BB into his next scheduled start at home against the Athletics.

Eovaldi (9-8) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks in four innings. He struck out two.

Eovaldi was never quite able to find a groove Sunday, surrendering one run in each of his four frames of work and three solo home runs on the afternoon. The veteran right-hander has given up at least three runs in all but one of his last 10 outings, though he does have five quality starts during that period. Eovaldi has a 4.21 ERA this year, his worst mark since 2019, but his 1.21 WHIP and 122:28 K:BB over 115.1 innings are more encouraging figures.
