Story, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, has been diagnosed with a sports hernia, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Story was originally said to have a groin injury, so the sports hernia diagnosis provides more specificity to the issue he's reportedly been dealing with for much of the season. According to Bill Koch of the Providence Journal, a sports hernia can sideline a player six weeks if surgery isn't needed and about four months if surgical, so Story appears to be facing an extended absence. Andruw Monasterio is starting at shortstop for Boson on Saturday and could pick up regular playing time there in Story's stead.

Clarke (foot) is slated to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton on Saturday, Jason Burke of SI.com reports.

Clarke has been on the IL since April 22 due to a deep bone bruise in his right foot. He's progressed enough in his recovery to begin playing in games again, and Stockton announced that he's expected to play with the team both Saturday and Sunday. Clarke had been struggling for the A's before getting hurt, posting a meager .417 OPS with no homers, six RBI, two stolen bases and a 40 percent strikeout rate through 22 games.

Smith is out of the lineup for Saturday's matchup against Texas, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Smith started 12 straight games from April 30 to May 12, but he's now sitting for the second time in Houston's past four contests. The 23-year-old outfielder has been struggling mightily of late, batting .069 (2-for-29) with no extra-base hits or RBI over his past 10 games. Zach Cole is starting in right field for the Astros on Saturday.

Narvaez isn't starting Saturday versus Atlanta.

It's a routine day off for Narvaez, who started each of Boston's previous two games. Connor Wong (ankle) remains sidelined, so Mickey Gasper is starting behind the plate for the Red Sox on Saturday.

Keaschall isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Milwaukee.

Keaschall will get a chance to rest his legs Saturday after beginning May with a .244/.404/.341 slash line while starting all 13 games this month. While Keaschall sits, Tristan Gray will get the nod at second base and bat eighth.

Larnach (back) will start in left field and bat fourth Saturday against the Brewers.

Upper-back tightness prevented Larnach from starting Friday's contest, but he'll return to the starting nine following a day of recovery. In eight games since the beginning of May, the 29-year-old outfielder has gone 8-for-30 (.267) with three RBI, two runs scored and a steal.

Buxton (hip) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers.

Buxton will sit on the bench for a third consecutive game after being scratched from Thursday's lineup with a hip injury. The Twins haven't hinted toward Buxton spending time on the injured list, though that may become an option if he doesn't return to the starting nine soon. While the veteran takes another day to heal, James Outman will pick up a start in center field and bat ninth.

Bailey isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Since Bailey made his team debut Sunday, he has alternated starts with Austin Hedges behind the plate. Saturday will mark the latter's turn to handle catching duties.

The Yankees recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

The 22-year-old righty will return to the Yankees as the roster replacement for Max Fried, who landed on the injured list with a bone bruise in his left elbow. Rodriguez struggled during his first stretch in the big leagues, allowing five earned runs on 10 hits and eight walks while striking out five batters in 8.2 innings over two starts. He'll likely take Fried's place in the rotation until Gerrit Cole (elbow) is cleared to return, lining Rodriguez up to start against the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Fortes isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Fortes will sit down for the fourth time in Tampa Bay's last five games, which could signal that the Rays are pivoting toward using the lefty-hitting Hunter Feduccia as their primary catcher against right-handed starters.
