Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Taking seat Saturday
Crawford isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
Crawford will get a breather Saturday after going 3-for-14 with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored across his last five games. Leo Rivas will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Crawford's stead.

Jacob Latz RP | TEX
Rangers' Jacob Latz: Making start Saturday
Latz is slated to start Saturday's game against the Guardians in Cleveland.
With the Rangers recently welcoming Tyler Mahle back from the injured list, Latz had shifted to the bullpen following his most recent start Sept. 14 against the Mets. He has since made a pair of relief appearances, but Latz will be back in a starting role as the season winds down while the Rangers having shifted to a six-man rotation since being eliminated from playoff contention. Through 32 appearances (seven starts) on the campaign, Latz has gone 2-0 with a 2.80 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 70:37 K:BB in 80.1 innings.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Mariners' Josh Naylor: Sitting Saturday
Naylor (groin) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
Naylor's groin tightened up on him while he collected his 30th steal of the season Friday, and he'll remain out for at least one more game Saturday. His absence will open up first base for Luke Raley, who will bat seventh against right-hander Tyler Glasnow.

Casey Legumina RP | TB
Mariners' Casey Legumina: Optioned to ACL
The Mariners optioned Legumina to the Arizona Complex League on Saturday.
Legumina will give up his spot in the Mariners' bullpen for Logan Evans (elbow), who returned from the injured list Saturday. Assuming he's thrown his last pitch in the majors this year, Legumina will close the book on 2025 with a 5.62 ERA and 1.45 WHIP alongside a 55:25 K:BB across 49.2 innings.

Logan Evans RP | SEA
Mariners' Logan Evans: Activated from IL
The Mariners reinstated Evans (elbow) from the injured list Saturday.
Evans has been on the injured list since mid-August with right elbow inflammation. He's since made two rehab appearances in the minors, allowing one run on two hits and a walk while striking out two batters over 2.1 innings. Now healthy, the 24-year-old righty is expected to work out of the bullpen during the final two games of the regular season.

Jonah Heim C | ATH
Rangers' Jonah Heim: Sitting down Saturday
Heim isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.
Heim will grab a seat on the bench Saturday after collecting a base hit in each of his last two games. Kyle Higashioka will start behind the plate instead and bat fifth.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Rangers' Marcus Semien: Moves to 60-day IL
The Rangers transferred Semien (foot) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Semien has already been ruled out for the 2025 season due to a fractured third metatarsal and a Lisfranc sprain in his left foot. His move to the 60-day IL will simply act as a way to clear space on the 40-man roster for Dom Hamel, who was claimed off waivers from the Orioles on Saturday.

Dominic Hamel RP | NYY
Rangers' Dom Hamel: Claimed by Rangers
The Rangers claimed Hamel off waivers from the Orioles on Saturday and optioned him to the Arizona Complex League.
Hamel will join his third organization this month after having previously been waived by the Mets and Orioles. The 26-year-old righty tossed a scoreless inning against the Padres during his MLB debut Sept. 17 but finished the Triple-A season with a 5.32 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 67.2 frames. Marcus Semien (foot) was transferred to the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: X-rays on forearm negative
X-rays on Chisholm's left forearm came back negative following his removal from Saturday's game against the Orioles.
Chisholm left Saturday's contest after getting hit by a pitch in the fifth inning. He's also slated to undergo a CT scan to confirm the results of his X-ray, but it seems he managed to escape the incident without any structural damage. The Yankees may decide to sideline the 27-year-old infielder for Sunday's series finale to ensure he's fully healthy for the postseason, which would create an opportunity for Jose Caballero to pick up a start in the infield.

Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Exits after HBP
Chisholm was removed from Saturday's game against the Orioles after getting hit on the forearm by a pitch, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Chisholm immediately made his way into the dugout after taking a 97-mph sinker off his left forearm. The Yankees will presumably take him in for imaging to determine whether he suffered a fracture and should provide more information on his status in the near future.
