Williams was charged with a blown save in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Red Sox, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning.

Entering the ninth inning with a 2-0 lead, Williams would load the bases with two outs before walking Andruw Monasterio and giving up a game-tying hit to Jarren Duran. It's a tough way to finish the first half for Williams, who's blown back-to-back save chances and allowed four earned runs over his last 3.1 frames. He'll head into the All-Star break with a 4.83 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 44:19 K:BB while converting 13 saves across 31.2 innings.

Thornton struck out five and allowed two hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings in a no-decision during Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox.

The Mets called Thornton up from Triple-A Syracuse to step in as their fifth starter, after the team had previously opted for a bullpen day when the fifth spot in the rotation last came up Tuesday. In what was just his third big-league start, Thornton delivered an eye-opening performance, needing just 82 pitches to record his 21 outs while limiting the damage to just two free passes and a pair of base hits. After Thornton's excellent outing, interim manager Andy Green told Anthony DiComo of MLB.com that the rookie will retain a spot in the big-league rotation to open the second half. The Mets have already locked in Christian Scott, Sean Manaea, Nolan McLean and Freddy Peralta as their starters for the first four games out of the All-Star break, so Thornton will presumably make his next start July 21 in Milwaukee.

Petersen was lifted midway through the fifth inning of Sunday's game against the Guardians due to a right hamstring injury, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The Marlins treated their final game before the All-Star break as a bullpen day, with Tyler Phillips starting and covering the opening frame before Petersen became the third reliever summoned into the contest. After entering with two outs in the top of the fourth, Petersen induced a Travis Bazzana popout to close out the inning. Petersen stayed in the game to begin the fifth and allowed a leadoff home run to Brayan Rocchio, then recorded two outs before exiting the contest after surrendering a base hit to Kahlil Watson. The right-hander may have tweaked the hamstring at some point during the matchup with Watson, but it's not yet known if the injury is severe enough to keep the reliever out following the All-Star break.

France will start at first base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

France will receive a third consecutive start and appears to have leapfrogged Miguel Andujar for the final opening in the Padres' regular lineup versus right-handed pitching. Since the beginning of July, France is hitting .250 with three extra-base hits, three RBI and two runs over eight games.

Andujar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

After a run of three consecutive starts against right-handed pitchers during which he went 3-for-9 with three doubles, a walk, two runs and two RBI, Andujar has now been left on the bench for the Padres' ensuing two contests, both of which have also come against righties. The 31-year-old may have to settle for a short-side platoon role while the Padres are seemingly prioritizing Ty France and Sung-Mun Song ahead of him in matchups versus righties.

Rushing is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The 25-year-old continues to operate as the Dodgers' primary catcher with Will Smith (neck) on the injured list but will get a breather for the final game before the All-Star break. Eliezer Alfonzo will step in behind the plate Sunday in place of Rushing, who is poised to finish the first half with 10 home runs and an .808 OPS in 60 games, barring an appearance off the bench.

Freeland is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

After being called up to the big club in late May, Freeland had settled back into a near-everyday role at second base, but his playing time has begun to dry up now that Teoscar Hernandez has settled back in as a regular in the Los Angeles lineup following his return from the injured list June 29. With Hernandez taking control of left field, Tommy Edman has seen fewer opportunities in the outfield but has begun to poach playing time from Freeland at second base. Freeland will be on the bench for a fourth consecutive game and could soon be headed back to Triple-A Oklahoma City if his opportunities remain limited.

Kepler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Kepler will be held out of the lineup for the second time in the series while Arizona goes with Lourdes Gurriel in left field and Ketel Marte in the designated-hitter spot. Since serving an 80-game suspension and being cleared to make his Arizona debut June 25, Kepler has produced a .554 OPS across 38 plate appearances. Until he begins to improve his offensive output, Kepler could have to settle for a part-time role.

Campusano was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays due to abdominal soreness, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The 28-year-old was penciled in to start behind the plate Sunday but was instead replaced by Rodolfo Duran due to the injury. Campusano will now have five full days to recover before the Padres start the second half of the season Friday in Kansas City.

Troy (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Ryan Waldschmidt will receive the start in center field while Arizona gives Troy some extended time to recover from the shoulder contusion he suffered during Saturday's 9-2 win. Manager Torey Lovullo said after the game that Troy wouldn't require imaging on his shoulder, so the rookie outfielder is expected to be good to go coming out of the All-Star break.
