Sugano (3-2) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings against the Mets. He struck out one.

Sugano cruised through five innings before running into trouble in the sixth, allowing four runs, including a homer, and being pulled after recording just one out in the frame. After a lackluster 2025 season with the Orioles, the right-hander has put together a solid 2026 after inking a one-year deal with the Rockies in the offseason, posting a 3.41 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with a 22:11 K:BB across 37 innings (seven starts). The 36-year-old is tentatively scheduled to next pitch Sunday against the Phillies.

Williams picked up the save Monday against Colorado. He allowed no hits or walks while striking out one over a perfect inning.

Williams entered in the ninth inning with a two-run cushion and made quick work of the Rockies, retiring the side in order on just eight pitches to secure his fourth save of the season. It has been a rocky start to his tenure with the Mets, as the right-hander owns a 6.55 ERA and 1.91 WHIP, though he's still striking batters out at a prolific rate (14.7 K/9) and has strung together four consecutive outings without allowing an earned run.

Harris (quadriceps) is being considered day-to-day after Atlanta left him out of Monday's starting lineup against Seattle, Chad Bishop of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Harris managed to slot into the starting lineup in the DH spot Saturday, but he wasn't penciled into the starting nine Monday after also sitting Sunday. Manager Walt Weiss noted that the club is officially considering Harris day-to-day, though an IL stint could be on the table if the quad injury doesn't improve over the next few days. "You pull the plug on it if it starts to get worse at any time," said Weiss. "There's a tipping point right? We can't continue with this for another two week."

Peterson (1-4) earned the win Monday against the Rockies. He allowed two runs on three hits and no walks while striking out six over four innings.

Peterson, working behind Huascar Brazoban and Austin Warren, turned in a respectable effort in bulk relief, good enough to earn his first win of the season. The southpaw held the opposition scoreless through his first three innings before allowing a pair of runs in the seventh inning, underscoring his struggles to work deep into games and navigate a lineup multiple times. Across 34.1 innings in 2026, Peterson owns a 6.29 ERA and 1.60 WHIP with a 35:14 K:BB. The 30-year-old will look to stay in the win column in his next outing, tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Diamondbacks, though it remains to be seen if he works behind an opener again.

Matsui (groin) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan San Diegoreports.

Matsui is nearing his 2026 debut after suffering a left groin strain in February. He was a solid reliever for the Padres a year ago, collecting a 3.98 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with a 61:33 K:BB and one save across 63.1 regular-season innings.

Bailey is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.

Bailey will ride the pine for a second consecutive game, only this time it'll be Jesus Rodriguez who will serve behind home plate and bat eighth in his major-league debut. Bailey has slashed .159/.221/.206 with two steals, one home run, four RBI and a 5:16 BB:K across 68 plate appearances since April 1.

Chapman is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.

Chapman has gone 0-for-16 with two walks and seven strikeouts over his last four games, so he'll take a break and begin Monday's game on the bench. Casey Schmitt will start at the hot corner and bat second in the series opener against San Diego.

Eldridge will start at designated hitter and bat seventh Monday against the Padres, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

After being recalled from Triple-A Sacramento, Eldridge will immediately slide into the starting nine for the series opener, handling the DH spot while Casey Schmitt mans third base in place of a resting Matt Chapman. Eldridge produced a .963 OPS in 137 plate appearances in the minors this season, and he'll look for better results in his second stint in the majors after logging a .476 OPS in 37 plate appearances with the Giants late in the 2025 campaign.

Bader (hamstring) will start a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Bader has been working through a left hamstring strain that caused him to be placed on the Giants' 10-day injured list in mid-April. He has progressed enough in his recovery to embark on a rehab assignment, and how his hamstring reacts to a more intense workload will dictate when he'll be cleared to return to the majors.

Campusano is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Giants on Monday.

Campusano was seeing more playing time toward the tail end of April, but he will take a seat for a second consecutive game while Freddy Fermin serves behind home plate and bats eighth. Campusano is slashing .300/.352/.620 with three home runs and 10 RBI across 54 plate appearances this season.
