Vargas went 2-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI in Wednesday's 11-7 win over the White Sox.

Vargas made an early impact with a three-run blast in the second inning followed by a two-run homer in the third. He's launched three homers over the last two games and has extended his season-opening hit streak to 17 contests. Vargas is batting a remarkable .364 with a 1.079 OPS, five homers, 16 RBI, 14 runs scored, five doubles, one triple and no stolen bases. He has taken over as Arizona's primary first baseman while Carlos Santana (thigh) is on the injured list, though Vargas' hot start should secure him an everyday place in the lineup for the near future, regardless of position.

Rodriguez (2-0) allowed four runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win over the White Sox on Wednesday.

Rodriguez threw 61 of 96 pitches for strikes, but it wasn't a particularly convincing performance. He gave up a pair of solo home runs in this outing, putting him at four homers allowed over five starts this season. Rodriguez is at a 2.89 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 18:12 K:BB through 28 innings, but he's given up eight runs over his last two starts, so his early luck may be fading fast. The veteran southpaw is projected to make his next start on the road at Milwaukee.

Rumfield went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI on Wednesday against the Padres.

Rumfield drove in one run with a single in the fourth inning, and he followed that up with a run-scoring double four frames later. He's struggled mightily since a hot start to the season, collecting only eight hits across his last 51 at-bats with six RBI and one run scored. Positively, Rumfield has only struck out 16.8 percent of the time across 95 plate appearances to begin the season.

Bailey went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Dodgers.

Bailey had the biggest hit of the game when he took Jack Dreyer deep in the seventh inning for the lone scoring play. This was Bailey's first homer of the season, and it comes just less than a week after manager Tony Vitello hinted that the catcher position would become more of a timeshare for the Giants. That hasn't fully materialized yet -- this was Bailey's fourth straight game in the lineup -- but he could still see his usage reduced due to his .155 average and .429 OPS through 63 plate appearances. He's added four RBI, four runs scored and a stolen base across 19 games, though Bailey's defense will often make up for what he lacks as a hitter. To his credit, his plate discipline has improved this year with a 19 percent strikeout rate compared to 29.4 percent last year.

Walker walked one in a scoreless and hitless inning to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Dodgers. He didn't record a strikeout.

Walker picked up his second save in as many days, a good rebound after he blew a save chance against the Nationals on Saturday. This was his third save of the season, though he's also added a pair of holds, which indicates Walker isn't operating as a traditional closer. Over 11 innings this season, he has a 3.27 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 12:6 K:BB.

Mahle (1-3) allowed three hits and two walks while striking out five over seven shutout innings to earn the win over the Dodgers on Wednesday.

Mahle delivered his second scoreless outing of the year, and he was dominant while going pitch-for-pitch against Shohei Ohtani. Patrick Bailey delivered the necessary support with a three-run blast in the seventh inning that allowed Mahle to ultimately earn his first win of the season. Even with this performance, Mahle has an uninspiring 5.26 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 26:14 K:BB across 25.2 innings over five starts this year. He'll need to cut down on the walks to have more repeatable success -- his current 4.9 BB/9 is his highest since the abbreviated 2020 campaign. The right-hander is projected to make his next start on the road in Philadelphia.

Moniak went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored Wednesday against the Padres.

Moniak played a key role in a four-run second inning for the Rockies, delivering an RBI double before coming around to score. The knock extended his hitting streak to seven games, during which he's gone 9-for-26 with five doubles, one home run, four RBI and five runs scored. Five of those contests have come at Coors Field, but Moniak has also maintained a .806 OPS across 23 plate appearances on the road early in the new campaign.

Ohtani scattered five hits and struck out seven without walking a batter over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Wednesday. He also went 0-for-4 with a strikeout as a batter.

Ohtani continues to dominate on the mound this season -- he's allowed just two runs (one earned) over 24 innings so far, good for a 0.38 ERA. He's added a 25:6 K:BB and 0.75 WHIP. He wasn't able to get any run support in this contest, nor did he help his own cause as his 53-game on-base streak came to a close. Ohtani hasn't quite been himself at the plate yet this year with a .258/.382/.472 slash line, five home runs, 11 RBI, 15 runs scored and one stolen base over 24 contests as a hitter this season. His next pitching start is projected to be at home versus the Marlins.

Merrill went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and one stolen base in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Rockies.

Merrill opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning. Prior to Wednesday, he had gone 0-for-16 with 10 strikeouts over his previous four games. The outfielder has run streaky early in 2026, leading to a lackluster .217/.280/.380 slash line over 101 plate appearances. He's added three home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored, six doubles and five stolen bases across 24 contests.

Campusano went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Rockies.

Campusano's blast came in the seventh inning, but the Padres weren't able to build off of it. This was his second multi-hit effort of the season, and it was his first performance with an extra-base hit in his last six games. The catcher is batting .333 with a 1.052 OPS, two homers, seven RBI, seven runs scored, six doubles and no stolen bases over 39 plate appearances this year, but he continues to function in the backup catcher role behind Freddy Fermin.
