Bieber (shoulder) will throw a side session off a mound Tuesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Bieber hasn't pitched since Aug. 20 due to shoulder inflammation, and he'll have to build his arm back up before returning to game action. The right-hander will be up against the clock to make it back in time before the end of the regular season. He underwent an MRI on Sunday to confirm that the injury was healing, and the team was encouraged by the results of his imaging, per Hazel Mae of Sportsnet. Bieber has made just 11 starts this season, posting a 4.37 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 44:24 K:BB across 55.2 innings.

The Diamondbacks claimed Sanchez off waivers from the Blue Jays on Monday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

The Diamondbacks will take on the $6.8 million remaining of Sanchez's 2026 salary, and they'll retain his rights for 2027 as well, though he is a likely non-tender candidate. Sanchez has slashed .260/.318/.416 with eight home runs over 99 contests this season and will provide manager Torey Lovullo with another option in left field and at designated hitter.

Lee is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Blue Jays.

Lee has started 10 of 12 games this month but will take a seat for Monday's series opener. The rookie infielder has hit a rough patch at the plate in September, slashing .176/.341/.324 with three doubles, one triple, seven RBI, eight runs scored and a 9:15 BB:K across 44 plate appearances. Gleyber Torres is starting at second base, while Colt Keith mans the hot corner Monday.

Lee is absent from the lineup for Monday's contest in St. Louis.

The left-handed-swinging Lee typically starts against most southpaws, but he will begin Monday's game on the bench as the Cardinals send lefty Quinn Mathews to the hill. Scott Bandura will play right field for the Giants.

Torres is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants.

Torres had made nine straight starts against right-handed pitching, but he'll exit the lineup as the Giants send righty Landen Roupp to the bump. Thomas Saggese will handle second base and bat leadoff for St. Louis.

The Orioles optioned Hiraldo to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Hiraldo was just recalled from Norfolk on Sunday and threw 49 pitches in Sunday's 8-1 loss to the Blue Jays, surrendering four runs on two hits and four walks. Codi Heuer has been recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

The Orioles recalled Heuer from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Heuer was acquired from Milwaukee for cash last month after he was dealt from Cleveland to the Brewers just three days prior. The right-hander posted a 4.66 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB across 9.2 innings of relief with the Guardians this season.

The Blue Jays placed Martin on the 10-day injured list Monday with a strained left hamstring, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Martin was just called up to Toronto for his big-league debut this past weekend after spending the last decade-plus in the minors. Across three plate appearances, Martin went hitless with a walk and one strikeout. Davis Schneider has been recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.

Schneider is back with the big club after spending the past three-plus weeks in Triple-A. He's slashed an ugly .142/.295/.274 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 18 runs scored, one stolen base and a 25:47 BB:K across 140 plate appearances at the big-league level this season.

The Blue Jays optioned Tiedemann to Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Tiedemann made his MLB debut last month and has appeared in five games with the Blue Jays this season, allowing one run on five hits and six walks with eight strikeouts across six innings of relief.
