Evan Carter CF | TEX
Rangers' Evan Carter: Pulled with oblique soreness
Carter was removed from Friday's game against the Red Sox with right oblique soreness, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Carter made a diving catch in the fourth inning but was replaced on defense when the Rangers took the field in the fifth. The severity of the young outfielder's injury remains unknown, but more outfield reps could be coming for Ezequiel Duran or Michael Helman if Carter has to miss time.

Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Tigers' Jack Flaherty: Exits with leg injury
Flaherty was removed from Friday's game against the Guardians due to left leg discomfort, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.
Flaherty gave up two earned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one batter before his leg forced him out of the game after the third inning. More will be known regarding the severity of his injury once the Tigers' medical staff takes a closer look at him, and an update on his status could come after the game.

Trevor Megill RP | MIL
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Side no longer an issue
Megill (oblique) gave up one hit and struck out two batters during a scoreless inning Wednesday against the Athletics.
Megill had been unavailable out of the bullpen earlier in the week due to oblique tightness, but a few days of rest were all he needed to return to full health. The 32-year-old reliever owns a 4.50 ERA and 1.13 WHIP through 24 frames this season, but he's given up just two runs and struck out 12 batters in his last nine innings.

Addison Barger 3B | TOR
Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Nearing rehab assignment
The Blue Jays are hoping to send Barger (elbow) on a rehab assignment next week, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Barger continues to progress in his recovery from right elbow inflammation that sent him to the 10-day injured list May 11. He is moving through his hitting program, and the goal is for Barger to start a rehab assignment over the coming week, which could have him back with the Blue Jays by late June.

Tyler Ferguson RP | CHC
Cubs' Tyler Ferguson: Sent back to minors
The Cubs optioned Ferguson to Triple-A Iowa on Friday.
Ferguson gave up one earned run and struck out three batters in 1.1 innings during his lone appearance after joining the big-league bullpen Tuesday. He'll be sent back to Triple-A now that Trent Thornton has returned from paternity leave, but Ferguson could be an option to return to Chicago later in the year to provide the Cubs with a fresh arm.

Yimi Garcia RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Yimi Garcia: Close to return
Garcia (elbow) will continue his rehab assignment with Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday and is closing in on being reinstated from the 60-day injured list, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Garcia hasn't had the best stats across five minor-league rehab games, allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three across four innings. However, the important thing for Garcia is that he hasn't hit any setbacks during his rehab assignment, and if that trend continues, then the right-hander could make his 2026 regular-season debut with the Blue Jays by the end of June. He is in the final stages of his recovery from a cleanup procedure that he underwent on his right elbow in September.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Could return Tuesday
Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Edman (ankle) could return from the injured list Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Edman has been on the shelf all season after undergoing surgery on his right ankle in November, though he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City on May 26. Since then, the 31-year-old has slashed .225/.295/.375 with a homer, three RBI and six runs across 44 plate appearances. Once activated, he will presumably take over for Alex Freeland as the Dodgers' primary second baseman.

Kyle Teel C | CHW
White Sox's Kyle Teel: Nearing return from IL
White Sox manager Will Venable said Friday that Teel (knee/hamstring) will embark on a rehab assignment soon and is working toward returning from the 60-day injured list in the next few days, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
Levine relays that Teel's hamstring strain has fully healed, and the catcher's right knee strain is close to full recovery. Teel will go on a rehab assignment in the minor leagues in the coming days, and if all goes well, he could be cleared to make his 2026 regular-season debut by late June. His return would mean less reps available for both Edgar Quero and Drew Romo.

Jake McCarthy LF | COL
Rockies' Jake McCarthy: Out again Friday
McCarthy (illness) isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Athletics.
McCarthy will sit out a third consecutive game Friday while he continues to recover from an illness. Sterlin Thompson, Cole Carrigg and Troy Johnston will form Colorado's outfield trio with McCarthy out.
