The Pirates optioned Bidois to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Bidois has had a rough week, yielding five runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks over two innings in two appearances. His spot in the bullpen will be filled by Antwone Kelly.

Aldegheri will start Friday's home game against the Rays, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

After the southpaw was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday, the Angels initially made him available out of the bullpen. Aldegheri made a one-inning, eight-pitch appearance in Monday's extra-inning loss to the Astros but hasn't worked since, so he'll be ready to step into the vacant fifth spot in the rotation. With Jack Kochanowicz (elbow) headed for season-ending Tommy John surgery, Aldegheri should have a clear path to a permanent spot if he performs well. The 24-year-old has permitted three runs on 11 hits and five walks while striking out eight batters over 12 innings at the big-league level this season but posted an unsightly 7.24 ERA, 1.72 WHIP and 32:23 K:BB across 46 frames at Triple-A.

The Giants optioned Seymour to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday.

Seymour was tagged for four runs over 1.1 innings in a relief outing Wednesday versus the Nationals. He will likely rejoin the rotation at Sacramento. The Giants will announce a corresponding roster move prior to Friday's contest against the Cubs.

Assad is listed as the Cubs' scheduled starting pitcher for Friday's game in San Francisco.

Assad tossed 6.1 scoreless innings of relief Sunday versus the Giants after entering in place of the injured Jameson Taillon (hamstring). With Taillon now on the injured list and Matthew Boyd (knee/shoulder) recently suffering a setback, Assad should have the opportunity to make multiple starts for the Cubs. He's collected a 4.73 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB over 32.1 innings covering three starts and six relief appearances in 2026.

The Guardians will recall Espino from Triple-A Columbus prior to Friday's game against the Tigers, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Following two shoulder surgeries and multiple missed seasons due to injury, Espino is finally poised to make his major-league debut. The right-hander has been used out of the bullpen at Columbus, posting a 5.30 ERA and 29:15 K:BB over 18.2 innings of work. The timing of the call-up is interesting, given that Espino was scored upon in three of his last four outings at Triple-A, but the Guardians feel he's ready for his first big-league opportunity. Espino is likely to be used in low-leverage situations initially.

Crooks went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.

Crooks put the Cardinals ahead 4-3 in the second inning with his 374-foot blast off Christian Scott, his first long ball this season. Since he was called up May 29, Crooks has been part of a committee behind the plate with Ivan Herrera and Pedro Pages, going 4-for-22 (.182) with a .614 OPS across seven games. Crooks appeared in 15 games with St. Louis in 2025, slashing .133/.152/.244 with one home run.

Bichette went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

After going 0-for-8 over the first two games of the series, Bichette put the Mets ahead 2-1 with his first-inning blast off Hunter Dobbins, his sixth homer of the year. Bichette has shown signs of progress at the plate, going 10-for-29 (.345) with a .920 OPS over his last seven games. He's still slashing just .227/.277/.330 with 34 RBI and 31 runs scored across 296 plate appearances this season.

Young went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Young extended New York's lead to 3-1 in the first inning with a solo homer off Hunter Dobbins, his fourth of the year, before tying the game at 4-4 with an RBI single in the fifth. Since returning from the IL on May 26, Young has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with a .911 OPS while playing nearly every day at first base.

Dobbins did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets, allowing three runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The Mets got to Dobbins early, scoring three runs on a pair of first-inning homers by Bo Bichette and Jared Young, but the right-hander would manage to settle in and hold New York scoreless over his final 3.1 frames. Dobbins has made two starts and four appearances overall for St. Louis this season, posting a 3.63 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 17.1 innings. He would currently line up to face the Padres at home in his next outing, assuming the Cardinals stick with a six-man rotation.

Mangum went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Dodgers.

He started in center field for the fourth consecutive game, filling in for Oneil Cruz (hand). Mangum has gone 5-for-16 with two doubles and a stolen base in that span, though his RBI and run scored Thursday were his first counting stats. Mangum should play nearly every day so long as Cruz is sidelined.
