Carter isn't in Texas' starting lineup Sunday against the Angels.

With the Angels sending southpaw Reid Detmers to the hill, Carter will begin the game on the bench. Sam Haggerty is starting in center field and batting seventh for the Rangers.

Quintana was lifted in the second inning of his start Sunday against the Diamondbacks due to an apparent injury, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Quintana was charged with six earned runs on six hits before departing with one out in the bottom of the second after he was visited on the mound by a team trainer. The nature of Quintana's injury isn't clear, but the Rockies should have more details on his situation later Sunday once he's evaluated further. The Rockies will likely lean on a number of relievers to finish out Sunday's contest after Quintana's abbreviated start.

Busch went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk during the Cubs' 8-5 loss to the Astros on Sunday.

Busch entered Sunday's game having one 0-for-13 with five strikeouts over his last four games, but he broke out of that slump in a big way with a two-run homer in the seventh inning to reduce the Cubs' deficit to 7-5. It was the fifth home run of the season for Busch, though he's well behind pace to match the 34 homers that he logged in the 2025 regular season. He is slashing .230/.360/.380 with one steal, 29 RBI and 21 runs scored across 228 plate appearances this season.

Gray did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Twins, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts over four innings.

Gray went just four innings in less-than-ideal weather conditions, throwing only 45 of 75 pitches for strikes while generating six whiffs. It marked his shortest outing since returning from the injured list May 6, but the 36-year-old still owns an impressive 2.14 ERA over four starts during that stretch. He'll carry a 3.27 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB across 44 innings into a road matchup against the Guardians next weekend.

The Marlins announced that Norby was removed ahead of the sixth inning of Sunday's 4-0 win over the Mets due to left elbow discomfort, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. He went 0-for-1 at the plate prior to his departure.

After being struck in the left elbow by a pitch in the bottom of the fourth, Norby took his base and played an inning in the field before the Marlins opted to pull him from the contest. X-rays appear to have ruled out any structural damage to Norby's elbow, but he could be dealing with enough soreness and swelling that the Marlins opt to hold him out of the lineup for Monday's series opener in Toronto.

Jung (shoulder) isn't starting against the Angels on Sunday.

Jung exited Saturday's game in the fourth inning due to left shoulder soreness. He indicated after that contest that he thinks he will be "alright," per Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News, but the third baseman isn't starting Sunday. In Jung's place, Ezequiel Duran is manning the hot corner.

Smith earned the save in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Phillies, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

Smith has been rolling, converting his last 15 save chances while allowing just one earned run in his last 13.2 innings. The 27-year-old Smith leads the majors with 18 saves (in 20 chances) this season while posting a 2.45 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 37:5 K:BB across 25.2 innings.

Imanaga (4-5) took the loss against the Astros on Sunday, allowing seven runs on seven hits (three homers) and one walk while striking out six across six innings.

Imanaga gave up solo home runs to Jake Meyers and Nick Allen in the second and third innings, respectively, before yielding another five runs in the fifth, highlighted by a three-run homer by Christian Walker. Imanaga has given up 15 earned runs over his last two starts (10.1 innings), which is one more run than he yielded across his first nine outings of the regular season. That has ballooned his numbers to a 4.04 ERA and 1.07 WHIP across 64.2 innings in 2026. Imanaga will look to bounce back in his next start, which is slated for next weekend on the road against the Cardinals.

Peraza will start at third base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Peraza will be included in the starting nine for the fifth time in the last six games, this time occupying third base after his previous four starts had come at second base. The Angels should have steady playing time available for Peraza in the short term after Yoan Moncada (knee) was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday. Peraza has been reasonably productive when given the chance to play; he's maintaining a .278/.347/.474 slash line to go with six home runs and five stolen bases over 148 plate appearances on the season.

Ober (6-2) earned the win against the Red Sox on Sunday, allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks with three strikeouts over five innings.

Ober filled the zone with 59 strikes on 82 pitches, but three of the four runs he surrendered came via two homers. The 30-year-old has now yielded seven earned runs across 10 innings since throwing a complete-game shutout May 12, though he was still able to log at least five frames for the ninth straight outing. He'll carry a 3.92 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 43:17 K:BB across 62 innings this season into his next start, which is projected to be a road matchup against the Pirates.
