Jobe (elbow) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Jobe continues to progress in his recovery from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last June. The 23-year-old isn't expected to be back with Detroit until late this season or the start of 2027, but he's avoided setbacks thus far as he builds up his throwing program.

Vargas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Vargas will hit the bench for just the fourth time through the White Sox's first 49 games of the season in what appears to be a routine maintenance day. With Vargas taking a seat, Luisangel Acuna will pick up a start at shortstop, while Colson Montgomery slides over to Vargas' usual spot at third base.

Scott (1-1) earned the win over San Diego on Tuesday, walking one batter and striking out two over 1.1 scoreless and hitless innings.

Scott has been Los Angeles' primary closer since Edwin Diaz (elbow) landed on the injured list April 20, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts elected to call on Scott in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday. The lefty's entrance came at a critical moment, as the Padres had put runners on first and second with two outs in a 4-4 game. Scott got Ramon Laureano to fly out to end the threat and then worked around a two-out walk to retire the side in the eighth. He moved in line for the victory when Los Angeles plated a run in the top of the ninth, and Will Klein got the final three outs in the bottom of that inning for his first career save. Scott's usage Tuesday shouldn't be viewed as an indication that he's not the Dodgers' first choice as closer, though it does suggest that Roberts isn't against using him in earlier high-leverage spots if the situation calls for it.

Carroll is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Giants.

During Tuesday's game, Carroll was hit in the head by a relay throw on his triple in the bottom of the first inning. He was able to stay in the game and ended up playing all nine innings of Arizona's 5-3 comeback win. According to Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic, Carroll exhibited no symptoms of a concussion during or after Tuesday's game and campaigned to play Wednesday, but manager Torey Lovullo said that he elected to give the star outfielder the day off since he was due for a breather anyway. Jorge Barrosa will get the nod in right field in place of Carroll, who had started each of Arizona's last 33 games.

Rodriguez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Rodriguez finds himself on the bench for the fourth day in a row and looks as though he'll have to settle for a part-time role following Daniel Susac's recent return from the injured list. The Giants were able to temporarily open up steady playing time for Rodriguez after Patrick Bailey was dealt to the Guardians on May 9, but Rodriguez has taken himself out of the mix for regular starts by going just 1-for-19 at the plate following that trade.

Bader is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Bader will pick up some rest in the series finale after he went 5-for-22 with four extra-base hits (two home runs, two doubles), five RBI and four runs while starting in the Giants' last five games. Drew Gilbert will cover center field in place of Bader on Wednesday.

Bird notched a hold against the Blue Jays on Tuesday, striking out one batter and hitting one over a scoreless and hitless two-thirds of an inning.

Bird entered in the seventh inning with New York ahead 5-3. He retired the first two batters he faced before hitting Vladimir Guerrero with a pitch. Bird was pulled after the HBP, and Guerrero was ultimately stranded. Bird has given up just two earned runs while recording an 8:3 K:BB over his past 11 appearances spanning 8.1 innings. He's been in the high-leverage mix with five holds over that span.

The Rangers activated Curvelo (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday and optioned him to Triple-A Round Rock.

Curvelo has been shelved since mid-April with a right shoulder impingement, but he recently made a couple scoreless rehab appearances with Round Rock despite three walks. Rather than add him back to the major-league bullpen, the Rangers have elected to keep Curvelo in the minors for the time being.

Lee (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

According to MLB.com, Lee has shown significant improvement since being lifted from Monday's 12-2 loss due to back spasms, but he'll miss out on a second straight start nonetheless. The Giants expect Lee to avoid a trip to the injured list, and he could be ready to return to the lineup Friday against the White Sox following Thursday's team off day.

Castro is out of the lineup against Texas on Wednesday

After going 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout Tuesday, Castro will sit out for the series finale against the Rangers. The switch hitter is slashing .239/.299/.343 with two homers and three steals through 147 plate appearances this year. The 29-year-old has been a lineup regular for Colorado and will receive a day off against right-hander Jack Leiter.
