Early did not factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta. He allowed two runs on five hits while striking out six without a walk across five innings.

Both of the runs Early gave up came on solo home runs by Drake Baldwin and Michael Harris in the first and fourth frames, respectively. Early was solid outside of those two long balls, and he ended up avoiding the loss after his Red Sox teammates scored two runs across the sixth and seventh innings. The 24-year-old southpaw has a 3.21 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 45:18 K:BB across 47.2 innings this season, and he's slated to face the Royals on the road next week.

Fluharty will serve as Toronto's opening pitcher for Saturday's game in Detroit, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Fluharty has already worked as an opener once before this season, allowing one run on two hits and a walk in an April 4 game against White Sox. Now sporting a 5.40 ERA and 1.40 WHIP through 15 innings on the season, Fluharty will be trusted him to handle the first inning or two of Saturday's contest before the Blue Jays send in Spencer Miles for bulk-relief duties.

Marsee went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a steal during the Marlins' 7-2 loss to the Rays on Friday.

Marsee entered Friday's game having gone 0-for-8 over his last two outings, but he got himself out of that mini-slump by hitting singles in his first two at-bats before belting his third home run of the season in the sixth. He also collected his 13th steal of the season, which is third most in the National League and tied for fifth in the majors. Over his last seven games, Marsee has gone 6-for-21 with two home runs, four RBI and three steals.

Norby went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during the Marlins' 7-2 loss to the Rays on Friday.

Norby got the Marlins on the board early with a solo homer off Ian Seymour in the second inning. It was Norby's first home run since April 24 and his fourth of the season. He is slashing .234/.336/.391 with five steals, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored across 149 plate appearances this season.

Junk (2-4) took the loss against the Rays on Friday, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and three walks while striking out four across 5.2 innings.

It was a disastrous outing for Junk, who gave up two runs in three of the first four innings of Friday's game, starting with a two-run homer by Yandy Diaz in the first. The right-hander gave up a solo homer to Cedric Mullins in the sixth before being pulled, and Junk ended his day with season highs in hits, runs and homers allowed. He's allowed 11 earned runs over his last two starts and now sits at a 4.14 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 50 innings this season. Junk is slated to take on Atlanta next week at home.

Diaz went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk during Tampa Bay's 7-2 win over Miami on Friday.

Diaz got the Rays on the board early with a two-run home run off Janson Junk in the first inning, which was the former's second home run in May and sixth of the season. It was also the sixth multi-RBI game of the season for Diaz, who is slashing .297/.378/.449 with 26 RBI, 21 runs scored and one steal across 180 plate appearances.

Walls went 1-for-3 with three RBI during the Rays' 7-2 win over the Marlins on Friday.

Walls brought Cedric Mullins home on a groundout to first, and the former tacked on two more runs for Tampa Bay with a double to right field. Walls' three RBI on Friday were a season high, and it's the third time in four games that he's driven in at least one run. He has gone 4-for-14 (.286) with five RBI and two runs scored over his last four games.

Mullins went 4-for-4 with three singles, one steal, a solo home run and two additional runs scored during the Rays' 7-2 win over the Marlins on Friday.

Mullins utilized the bunt to get on base in both of his first two at-bats before smacking his third home run of the season (and first since April 18) in the sixth inning. He also logged his ninth steal of the season, which puts him eighth in the American League and second on the Rays behind Chandler Simpson (14). Over his last seven games, Mullins has gone 9-for-24 (.375) with three steals, one home run, five RBI and five runs scored.

Seymour allowed one run on two hits while striking out two across two innings while serving as the opener in the Rays' 7-2 win over the Marlins on Friday.

Seymour made his first start of the season Friday against Miami and went two innings as the opener, giving up a solo home run to Connor Norby in the second before handing the keys to Jesse Scholtens. Seymour has yielded a home run in two of his last three outings and has a 5.48 ERA and 1.36 WHIP over 21.1 innings this season. It's possible that Seymour operates as the Rays' opener when Scholtens makes his next appearance, which is tentatively slated for next week at home against the Orioles.

Scholtens (4-2) earned the win against the Marlins on Friday, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four across five innings. He did not issue a walk.

Ian Seymour served as the Rays' opener Friday and pitched in the first two innings before Scholtens took over. Scholtens was in control for most of his outing, with his lone blemish coming in the sixth inning, when he yielded a solo homer to Jakob Marsee. It was the first time since April 20 against the Reds that Scholtens completed five-plus frames, and he sits at a 3.06 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 32.1 innings this season. He's lined up to face the Orioles at home next week, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Scholtens operate in a bulk-relief role again.
