O'Neill is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

Per Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun, first baseman Pete Alonso is nursing a minor calf injury that will keep him from playing defense Sunday, but he'll remain in the lineup at designated hitter and bump O'Neill to the bench. O'Neill started the last eight games and went 6-for-28 (.214 average) with one home run and a 6:10 BB:K.

Ramirez went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over San Diego.

Ramirez, who returned to action after getting a rest day Friday, doubled and scored the Guardians' first run in the first inning. He later hit a sacrifice fly to drive in their fourth run. Ramirez has been grinding (12-for-61) since coming off the injured list in July, and he's having his playing time managed. In a positive sign, two of his three batted-ball events Saturday had exit velocities greater than 100 mph, including the double which clocked in at 103.5 mph, the fourth-hardest hit ball he's logged since his return.

The Red Sox are expected to place Slaten on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right elbow inflammation, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Slaten last pitched Wednesday against the Blue Jays, so his move to the IL will be retroactive to Thursday. Per Sean McAdam of MassLive.com, Slaten had been pitching through discomfort in his forearm/elbow for a period of time, and the Red Sox have decided that the righty reliever needed a chance to rest up and recover. The 28-year-old will make his second trip to the IL this season after missing a little over a month at the start of the campaign due to a right oblique strain.

Nootbaar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Jody Jackson of DBacks.tv reports.

Nootbaar will sit for the second time in the series while the Diamondbacks go with Max Kepler in left field and Gabriel Moreno at designated hitter. Since being acquired from the Cardinals on Aug. 3, Nootbaar has gone just 5-for-32 (.156) with one stolen base, two runs and one RBI through 11 games.

Waldschmidt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Jody Jackson of DBacks.tv reports.

Jorge Barrosa will cover center field in place of Waldschmidt, who had started the last 12 games while slashing .211/.318/.289. Though he's held a near-everyday role in center field since being recalled from Triple-A Reno on July 9, he could soon be pushed to a corner spot with Jordan Lawlar (hamstring) in the midst of a rehab assignment and trending toward a return from the 60-day injured list during the upcoming week.

Myers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Myers will ride the pine for Sunday's series finale after starting in each of the Reds' previous three contests. TJ Friedl will man center field and bat eighth for Cincinnati.

Kwan went 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Padres.

With runners at the corners in the seventh inning, the Guardians ran a double-steal with Chase DeLauter taking off for second base and Kwan scoring on the throw. Kwan has hit safely in 13 of the last 14 games, posting a .411/.493/.500 slash line and scoring 12 runs. He's experienced a remarkable turnaround in 2026. After being dropped to ninth in the order and holding a .206 batting average on June 22, Kwan has slashed .368/.449/.461 in 43 games since.

Stephenson is absent from Sunday's lineup against the Marlins.

Stephenson, who went 1-for-8 with two strikeouts during the first two games of the series, will sit out Sunday's finale. Jose Trevino will take over behind the plate and bat seventh for the Reds.

The Tigers designated Cruz for assignment Sunday.

After appearing in two games for the Tigers in June, Cruz went unused during his latest stint in Detroit after being called up from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday. He'll wind up giving up his spot on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster to outfielder Brett Callahan, whose contract was selected from Toledo. The 28-year-old Cruz will now be subject to the waiver process, but if he goes unclaimed, he'll stick around in the organization and report to Triple-A.

The Tigers selected Callahan's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. He'll start in left field and bat seventh in the series finale versus the White Sox.

Trei Cruz was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. The 24-year-old Callahan opened the season at Double-A Erie and posted an .879 OPS in 59 games to earn a bump up to Triple-A, where he slashed .271/.351/.338 with one home run and nine steals across 151 plate appearances and saw time at all three outfield spots. He could get a look in a semi-regular role until the banged-up Tigers get healthier.
