The Rangers recalled Smith from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Since being optioned to Triple-A on July 9, Smith has gone 7-for-34 (.206) with two steals and one RBI. However, he'll return to the big club to fill the void on the 26-man roster left by Josh Jung, who was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left calf strain. Smith will return to major-league action immediately, as he's starting at third base and batting eighth against the Mariners on Saturday.

The Rangers placed Jung on the 10-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Wednesday, due to a left calf strain.

Jung has been dealing with a left calf injury that he picked up against the White Sox on Tuesday. There was hope that he would be cleared to return to the lineup this weekend, but the injury is severe enough for Jung to warrant a stint on the injured list. The Rangers should have a better sense of Jung's recovery timeline once he undergoes further tests, but the team is hopeful that he'll be ready to return next weekend against the Astros, per Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com. Josh Smith was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

Steer isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against St. Louis.

Steer will get a chance to regroup Saturday after going 0-for-14 over his last four games. His absence will allow Noelvi Marte to start in right field, batting sixth.

Basso is listed as the Athletics' starting pitcher against the Twins on Saturday.

Per Jason Burke of Roundtable.io, Mason Barnett was originally scheduled to start for the Athletics on Saturday. Instead, the club will turn to an opener in the form of Basso, who has started in two games for Triple-A Las Vegas this season. He has a 6.48 ERA and 1.92 WHIP across 8.1 innings in the majors this season.

Barnett is not listed as the Athletics' starter for Saturday's game against the Twins.

Jason Burke of Roundtable.io originally reported that Barnett would start Saturday. Instead, it'll be left-hander Brady Basso who will serve as the opener in what is shaping up to be a bullpen game for the Athletics. Barnett could still pitch in bulk relief Saturday. He has a 4.64 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 21.1 innings this season.

Myers isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Myers will retreat to the bench after going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in the series opener Friday. TJ Friedl will pick up a start in center field and bat seventh with Myers sitting.

Lowe isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Lowe will move to the bench to begin Saturday's contest after going 2-for-5 with a strikeout Friday. Sal Stewart will shift to first base while Lowe sits, giving Ke'Bryan Hayes a start at the hot corner.

Langeliers is not in the Athletics' starting lineup against the Twins on Saturday.

Langeliers will be idle for Saturday's game while Jonah Heim starts behind home plate and Nick Kurtz serves as the designated hitter. Langeliers is in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak, during which he has gone 10-for-30 with three home runs, six RBI and three doubles.

Keaschall is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Athletics on Saturday.

Keaschall has started versus left-handed pitching pretty regularly this season but will be idle against A's southpaw Brady Basso while the Twins start Trevor Larnach, Byron Buxton and Alan Roden in the outfield from left to right. Keaschall has gone 6-for-21 (.286) with one steal and one RBI in seven games since the All-Star break.

The Astros recalled King from Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday, Julia Morales of Space City Home Network reports.

King was sent down to Triple-A last week after giving up eight earned runs over his last four outings (spanning five innings). Prior to that four-game stretch, he boasted a 2.02 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 12 holds, six saves (on nine chances) and a 31:14 K:BB across 40 innings. Despite his recent struggles, King is back with the big club after the Astros placed Spencer Arrighetti (foot) on the 15-day injured list.
