  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Makes early departure

Garcia was removed from Tuesday's game against the Nationals with an apparent hand injury, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

Garcia's hand looked to be bothering him during his final plate appearance in the fourth inning, and the Royals eventually pulled him for a pinch hitter in the sixth. The severity of his injury is unknown, but the Royals should provide more information after the game.

  • Mariners' Brendan Donovan: Starts running progression

Donovan (groin) began a running progression Tuesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Donovan has been sidelined since suffering a left groin strain in mid-May, and he's now set to start running again. Based on the injury, the running program is the largest hurdle for the 29-year-old to clear, and it's expected to last between 10 days and two weeks. If all goes well, Donovan would then be in a position to begin a minor-league rehab assignment.

Mariners' Luke Raley: Sitting with back tightness

Raley was left out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Baltimore due to back tightness, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Raley's back tightened up on him shortly before Tuesday's game, causing the Mariners to sit him down as a precaution. Victor Robles, Julio Rodriguez and Dominic Canzone will start in the outfield while Raley gets a break.

  • Tommy Edman LF | LAD

Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Set to start Wednesday

Edman is expected to start at third base Wednesday against the Rays, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Edman was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Tuesday after missing the entirety of the season to this point while recovering from offseason surgery on his right ankle. Although he isn't in the starting lineup Tuesday, the 31-year-old stated that he will make his 2026 starting lineup debut at the hot corner in Wednesday's series finale. With Shohei Ohtani expected to the draw the start on the mound in the series finale, it's possible that Ohtani will be absent from the lineup, pushing Max Muncy to designated hitter while Edman takes over at third base.

Harris was removed from Tuesday's game against the Giants with lower-back tightness.

The severity of Harris' injury remains unknown, but Atlanta may provide more details following Tuesday's contest. Eli White entered Tuesday's game as Harris' replacement and could be in line for more playing time if the latter needs to miss additional games.

  • Coby Mayo 3B | BAL

Orioles' Coby Mayo: Day off Tuesday

Mayo is not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Mariners, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Mayo will take a seat for another contest, making it four of the last six that he has not been in the starting lineup. Blaze Alexander appears to have supplanted him in the pecking order at third base, as Alexander is starting at the hot corner and batting eighth in the series opener versus Seattle.

  • Dylan Beavers RF | BAL

Orioles' Dylan Beavers: Beginning assignment Thursday

Beavers (oblique) is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Double-A Chesapeake on Thursday, Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com reports.

Beavers was cleared to begin facing live pitching Monday, and barring a sudden setback, he'll begin testing his strained right oblique in a competitive setting later this week. The 24-year-old outfielder has been sidelined for about a month and will likely require a handful of appearances in the minors before being cleared to return from the IL.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Orioles' Chris Bassitt: Starting throwing progression

Bassitt (back) received a facet injection to his lower back Friday, and he's set to begin his throwing progression, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Bassitt was placed on the 15-day injured list June 8 due to low back discomfort, but he now appears to be set to begin to working towards a return to action. The right-hander will likely require at least one bullpen session and potentially a round of live batting practice before beginning a minor-league rehab assignment. Bassitt is first eligible to be activated from the IL on June 20, but he seems likely to remain sidelined into July at this point.

  • Dean Kremer SP | BAL

Orioles' Dean Kremer: Gearing up for rehab assignment

Kremer (quadriceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk this week, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Kremer threw live batting practice for the second time in a week Tuesday, and he'll now transition into game action with the Triple-A squad. Considering he's been sidelined since late April while recovering from a right quadriceps strain, the right-hander will likely require a few outings with Norfolk to get up to speed before he'd be added to the major-league roster in early July.
