  • Cam Smith RF | HOU

Astros' Cam Smith: Out of lineup again Tuesday

Smith is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Marlins.

Smith will head to the bench for a second straight game. The 23-year-old -- who is currently in a 1-for-28 slide at the plate -- will again yield right field to Taylor Trammell.

  • Astros' Christian Walker: Returning to Houston lineup

Walker (hip) will start at first base and bat sixth in Tuesday's game versus the Marlins.

Walker missed the last two starts with a right hip injury, but he was used in a pinch-hitting capacity Monday and is back in the lineup Tuesday. The 35-year-old is slashing just .171/.292/.317 so far in July.

  • Dominic Smith DH | ATL

Braves' Dominic Smith: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Smith is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres.

The veteran unsurprisingly remained on the bench Monday with lefty JP Sears taking the mound for San Diego, but Smith's absence Tuesday is coming against righty Walker Buehler. Mike Yastrzemski (elbow) is serving as the designated hitter in his return from the injured list.

  • Giants' Daniel Susac: Out of San Francisco lineup

Susac is not in the lineup for Tuesday's tilt in Kansas City.

The Giants have eased Susac back into things following his return from the injured list last week, as this is the third time he's been on the bench in five games. It will be Jesus Rodriguez's turn behind the plate Tuesday.

  • Orioles' Samuel Basallo: Out of lineup again Tuesday

Basallo (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

It's the second straight absence from the lineup for Basallo after he exited Sunday's contest due to right shoulder discomfort. The 21-year-old indicated his shoulder is already feeling better and that he should be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, per Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com. Adley Rutschman (wrist) is already on the IL, leaving Sam Huff and Chadwick Tromp to split catching duties if Basallo misses more time.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | PHI

Giants' Luis Arraez: Rare day off Tuesday

Arraez is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Kansas City.

It's a rare breather for Arraez, who had started each of the previous 20 contests. Christian Koss will grab a start at second base for the Giants in Arraez's stead.

  • Dodgers' Dalton Rushing: Out of Dodgers' lineup

Rushing is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Philadelphia.

Rushing started Monday's series opener but will retreat to the bench for the second game of the three-game set. Eliezer Alfonzo will take over behind the plate for the Dodgers.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Day off amid rough patch

Hernandez is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Philadelphia.

Hernandez has managed a lowly .125/.194/.196 batting line in 16 contests since coming off the injured list in late June. Alex Call will patrol left field for the Dodgers while Hernandez gets a reset.

  • Royals' Isaac Collins: Not in lineup Tuesday

Collins is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Giants.

It looks like a routine day off for Collins, who had started each of the previous 10 contests. Starling Marte will get a start in left field Tuesday as Collins rests.

  • Bobby Witt SS | KC

Royals' Bobby Witt: Held out of Tuesday's lineup

Witt (back) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Giants.

Witt returned to the lineup Monday after a one-game absence due to lower-back tightness, but he had to be pulled mid-game after aggravating the injury. There are no indications at this point that Witt might need a trip to the injured list, so for now he should be considered day-to-day. Tyler Tolbert is playing shortstop and batting ninth for the Royals on Tuesday.
