Jancel Villarroel C | HOU
Giants' Jancel Villarroel: Delayed start to season
High-A Eugene placed Villarroel on the 7-day injured list April 3 as he recovers from offseason meniscus surgery, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.
Per Callis, Villarroel will be playing in extended spring training games soon, so he could return in late April or May. The 21-year-old catcher hit .259 with eight home runs and 20 steals in 100 games last year in the lower levels of the Astros system.

Jack Perkins RP | ATH
Athletics' Jack Perkins: Summoned from minors
The Athletics recalled Perkins from Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday.
Perkins has been operating as a multi-inning reliever at Las Vegas, allowing four runs with a 9:7 K:BB over 7.2 innings. The Athletics need a fifth starter after sending down Luis Morales earlier this week, and Perkins has plenty of past experience in the rotation. However, the righty's usage this season suggests it's more likely he'll provide length in the bullpen.

Josh Bostick SP | SF
Giants' Josh Bostick: To miss all of 2026
High-A Eugene placed Bostick on the 60-day injured list March 18 due to a ruptured Achilles, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.
He suffered the injury over the offseason and will miss the entire 2026 season. Bostick had a 3.71 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 139:39 K:BB in 119 innings at High-A last year as a 23-year-old.

Kevin McGonigle SS | DET
Tigers' Kevin McGonigle: Not in Tigers' lineup Thursday
McGonigle is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Minnesota.
It's the first day off of the season for McGonigle, who has gone 4-for-15 with two RBI and a 0:2 BB:K in the first three games of the series. The Tigers will roll with Colt Keith at third base and Javier Baez at shortstop as they try to avoid being swept.

Kellon Lindsey SS | LAD
Dodgers' Kellon Lindsey: Delayed start to season
Single-A Ontario placed Lindsey on the 7-day injured list April 2 with a shoulder injury, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.
Callis cites Lindsey's shoulder impingement from 2025 as the reason he is getting extra reps in Arizona before heading to Ontario by the end of the month. Lindsey was a two-sport star in high school and has game-changing speed, but it's been a slow process at the plate for the 20-year-old. He struck out at a 31.7 percent clip last year across rookie ball and Single-A while hitting for minimal power (three homers, .126 ISO) in 32 games.

Packy Naughton RP | STL
Cardinals' Packy Naughton: Suffers another arm injury
Naughton suffered a left arm injury during an appearance with Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Kyle Reis of MLB.com reports.
Naughton immediately grabbed his pitching arm after delivering a pitch and walked off the field with the trainer. There's no word yet on the details, but it looked like another serious arm injury for the southpaw. Naughton missed all of 2025 and most of 2024 due to a pair of elbow surgeries.

Ching-Hsien Ko CF | LAD
Dodgers' Ching-Hsien Ko: Opens year on IL
Single-A Ontario placed Ko on the 7-day injured list April 2 with a quadriceps injury, Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports.
Callis reports that Ko is getting extra reps in Arizona before heading to Ontario by the end of April. Ching dominated the Arizona Complex League (175 wRC+) but his power dried up after a promotion to Single-A, where he hit .219 with zero home runs and one steal in 32 games to close last season.

Matt Pushard RP | STL
Cardinals' Matt Pushard: Back on mound Thursday
Pushard (knee) will throw a 20-pitch bullpen session Thursday at moderate intensity, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Pushard threw lightly off the mound earlier this week and will up the intensity level Thursday. Working his way back from right knee patellar tendinitis, Pushard is likely to need some rehab appearances before rejoining the Cardinals' bullpen.
