Baty is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

The left-handed hitter will retreat to the bench in the series finale, ceding his spot to the newly acquired Zack Short, with Bo Bichette shifting back to third base from shortstop while the Reds send lefty Nick Lodolo to the bump. While starting each of the Mets' last three games, Baty was able to get on base seven times, but he's still slashing an underwhelming .226/.303/.318 on the season. He could fade into a part-time role once the Mets get Francisco Lindor (calf) back from the injured list.

Young is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Young appears to be getting a routine day off after he started in each of the last three tilts. The Nationals will go with Dylan Crews in center field as they try to complete the series sweep.

Delgado went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Tigers.

Delgado put the Astros ahead 3-2 in the eighth inning with his two-run single off Will Vest. The 26-year-old Delgado has appeared in two games with Houston since he was acquired from Tampa Bay last week, going 3-for-7. Delgado slashed .249/.316/.360 with 24 steals in 61 Triple-A games this season.

Young is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds.

With lefty Nick Lodolo on the bump for the Reds, the left-handed hitter will receive the afternoon off while Mark Vientos replaces him at first base. Young had started all but one of the Mets' 17 games dating back to May 29, slashing .203/.266/.441 with four home runs, eight RBI and seven runs during that period.

Melton (back) is listed as the Tigers' probable starting pitcher for Saturday's game against the White Sox in Detroit, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Detroit scratched Melton ahead of his previously scheduled start Monday in Houston after he experienced general back tightness leading up to the contest, but he's apparently recovered well from the injury over the past couple of days. The Tigers will have the luxury of managing Melton's workload Saturday if they want to go that route, as Keider Montero's recent move out of the rotation provides the team with another option in the bullpen who's capable of covering multiple innings. Melton has fared well thus far in his four starts for Detroit since returning from a season-opening stint on the injured list, turning in a 2.81 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB across 25.2 innings.

Turner (wrist) will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Though X-rays on Turner's right wrist returned negative after he was hit by a pitch in Monday's 7-0 win in the series opener, the Phillies elected to hold the 32-year-old out of the lineup Tuesday while he dealt with some painful bruising. The day off apparently provided sufficient time for Turner to recover, as he'll slot back into his usual spot in the field for the series finale. Even before hurting his wrist, Turner had been enduring a rough start to the season; he'll take a career-low .594 OPS -- down 218 points from 2025 -- into Wednesday's contest.

Baez went 4-for-5 with four home runs and seven RBI in Triple-A Memphis' win over Nashville on Tuesday.

Baez went deep in each of his first three trips to the plate before he grounded out back to the pitcher in the seventh inning. He then got another chance in the eighth inning and smashed a solo blast. Baez has an incredible 12 long balls over his last 18 games, pushing his total on the season to a career-high 23. He's also stolen 12 bases in 13 attempts and boasts a .976 OPS. Baez's best path to playing time with the Cardinals is in center field, and most of his starts have come at that position (35). However, Baez has played right field in each of his last three contests.

Nunez went 2-for-2 with two walks, two triples, three runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Royals.

The speedy infielder is up to 26 steals on the year and remains one behind Tuesday's opposing shortstop, Bobby Witt, for the major-league lead. Nunez's two triples in the same game also tied a franchise record, with Daylen Lile having most recently tied the mark in September of last season. Nunez has stepped up his production at the plate in June, slashing .353/.421/.500 over 39 plate appearances with four steals, seven RBI and eight runs in 12 contests.

Griffin didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Royals, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

The 30-year-old lefty produced his second straight quality start and seventh of the season on 100 pitches (74 strikes), but Griffin saw his eighth win slip away when the Nationals' bullpen coughed up a two-run lead in the top of the seventh inning. Griffin has been locked in over his last five outings, posting a 1.93 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 26:5 K:BB though 28 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Phillies.

Matthews (3-4) earned the win Tuesday against the Rangers after allowing two runs on eight hits over seven innings. He struck out four without issuing a walk.

Matthews has been involved in the decision in each of his seven starts this season. This was a big bounce-back outing after he gave up seven runs on nine hits across six innings in a road loss to the Tigers the last time out. Matthews has five quality starts already and has pitched at least six frames in all but one of his seven appearances. He'll take a 4.78 ERA and 1.18 WHIP to his next start, scheduled for next week at home versus the Dodgers.
