Rangers' Adam Fox: Tallies in loss

Fox scored a goal on three shots and added three hits in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Hurricanes.

Fox has five points over his last three contests. The 27-year-old defenseman is up to 10 goals, 51 helpers, 130 shots on net, 104 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 72 appearances. He's one of nine defensemen to earn at least 60 points this season through Saturday's action. With the Rangers eliminated from playoff contention due to Saturday's loss, Fox could opt to play in the IIHF World Championship, where he would be one of Team USA's top blueliners if he chooses to participate.

  • Hurricanes' Dmitry Orlov: Pockets helper Saturday

Orlov logged an assist and went plus-2 in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.

The lopsided nature of the game gave Orlov a chance to play extra minutes -- he led the team with 22:25 of ice time. The blueliner has just two goals and an assist over 11 contests since he returned from an upper-body injury that cost him five games. He should be in line for top-four minutes in the postseason. Orlov's at 27 points, 114 shots on net, 97 hits, 56 blocked shots and a plus-16 rating through 73 appearances.

  • Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Tallies opening goal Saturday

Chatfield scored a goal and went plus-3 in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Rangers.

Chatfield ended an eight-game point drought with the opening tally Saturday. He was also rested for a game in that stretch, as the Hurricanes have taken a proactive approach to rotate their blueliners out since they clinched a playoff spot. The 28-year-old has been steady in a bottom-four role this year with 18 points, 113 shots on net, 64 hits, 64 blocked shots, 54 PIM and a plus-22 rating across 78 appearances.

  • Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Contributes assist Saturday

Mateychuk notched an assist, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Capitals.

Mateychuk has remained steady with a goal and six helpers over his last 11 outings. He's been a little sheltered but is still playing in a top-four role during a playoff push, showing the trust the Blue Jackets have in him at just 20 years old. Mateychuk's now at 13 points, 41 shots on net, 60 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating across 42 appearances this season.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Werenski: Scores early in blowout win

Werenski scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Capitals.

Werenski set the tone for a must-win game for the Blue Jackets, scoring one minute in on a feed from Sean Monahan. While Werenski went 17 games between goals, he was still productive with 10 assists in that span. For the season, the star defenseman is at 77 points (21 goals, 56 assists), 288 shots on net, 128 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating over 78 appearances. He's second in the league for points by a blueliner, and combined with his astounding (and league-leading) 26:49 average ice time per game, Werenski should be in the discussion for the Norris Trophy.

  • Rangers' Braden Schneider: Out for the year

Schneider (upper body) will miss the final two games of the season, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Per Walker, Schneider had been dealing with the injury earlier in the season, and he'll now focus on recovering with the Rangers officially eliminated from playoff contention. Matthew Robertson was recalled from AHL Hartford on Sunday and figures to take Schneider's spot in New York's final two games. The 23-year-old Schneider will finish the year with six goals, 21 points and a plus-9 rating across 80 contests.

  • Rangers' Matthew Robertson: Up from AHL

Robertson was recalled from AHL Hartford on Sunday, and he will make his NHL debut against Florida on Monday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

Robertson has registered one goal, 24 assists and 55 PIM in 60 AHL appearances this season. The 24-year-old Robertson will replace Braden Schneider (upper body) in Monday's lineup.

  • Zeev Buium D | VAN

Wild's Zeev Buium: Inks entry-level deal

Buium signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Minnesota on Sunday.

Buium will report to the NHL after completing his freshman season with the University of Denver in 2024-25. During his final NCAA campaign, the 19-year-old blueliner had 13 goals and 48 points in 41 games. Due to injuries to Jake Middleton (upper body) and Jared Spurgeon (neck), Buium could make his NHL debut in Tuesday's regular-season finale versus Anaheim.

  • Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Warming up but won't play Sunday

Hamilton (lower body) will dress for warmups but won't play Sunday against the Islanders, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

It was reported in March that Hamilton would miss the remainder of the regular season and the first round of the playoffs, though it appears that his recovery is ahead of schedule. The 31-year-old blueliner had nine goals and 40 points in 63 games this year before the injury. While it's unlikely the Devils would rush him back in the regular season, Hamilton could be tracking toward an earlier return in the postseason.

  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Big night on power play

Dahlin scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Panthers.

The blueliner opened the scoring with 19 seconds left in the first period before setting up JJ Peterka for the game-tying tally midway through the third. Dahlin is wrapping up another playoff-less season for the Sabres in style, delivering five multi-point performances in his last eight appearances while racking up four goals and 11 points over that stretch. Saturday's effort also gave Dahlin 20 points on the season with the man advantage (five goals, 15 helpers), the fourth straight campaign in which he's hit that plateau.
