Igor Shesterkin G | NYR
Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Gets little help in loss
Shesterkin stopped 22 shots in Tuesday's 4-0 loss to the Hurricanes.
The Rangers' skaters had a rough night at both ends of the ice, giving up lots of prime scoring chances while failing to solve Frederik Andersen in the other crease. Shesterkin's January hot streak appears to be over as a result -- he's given up nine goals on 48 shots (.813 save percentage) while losing his last two starts -- but on the month, he still boasts a 6-2-1 record in nine outings with a 2.07 GAA and .921 save percentage.

Frederik Andersen G | CAR
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Blanks Blueshirts
Andersen made 22 saves in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Rangers.
The shutout was the first of the season for the 35-year-old netminder, and he also recorded his third straight win since returning from knee surgery. Andersen has moved right back into a timeshare with Pyotr Kochetkov in the Carolina crease, and that arrangement figures to hold as long as both goalies remain healthy. On the season, Andersen is 6-1-0 in seven outings with a dazzling 1.84 GAA and .924 save percentage.

Adin Hill G | LV
Golden Knights' Adin Hill: Loses in overtime
Hill stopped 24 of 28 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Stars.
This was not a good performance for Hill. He was spotted a 3-1 lead early in the second period, but Wyatt Johnston scored the next three goals to pull off a comeback for the Stars. Hill has started three straight games against tough opponents, and he went 1-1-1 in that span with two matchups versus Dallas and one against Florida. Hill is now 19-9-4 with a 2.65 GAA and a .901 save percentage over 32 starts this season. Ilya Samsonov has played fairly well when given the chance, and the two goals had alternated starts coming out of the holiday break before this recent uptick in workload for Hill. The Golden Knights' next game is Thursday at home versus the Blue Jackets.

Jake Oettinger G | DAL
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Gets overtime win
Oettinger stopped 25 of 28 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Golden Knights.
For the second game in a row, Oettinger defeated the Golden Knights despite a subpar performance. He's allowed three goals in all three of his starts versus Vegas this season, going 2-1-0 in those games, which comes after the two teams met in the opening round of last spring's playoffs. Oettinger improved to 25-11-1 for 2024-25, and he's added a 2.30 GAA and a .912 save percentage over 37 starts. He'll likely continue to see a heavy workload before suiting up as the presumed backup to Connor Hellebuyck at the 4 Nations Face-Off in February.

Philipp Grubauer G | SEA
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Poor performance Tuesday
Grubauer gave up five goals on 22 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Ducks.
This was a pretty loose game all around, which doesn't tend to bode well for Grubauer. He's dropped five straight starts in regulation and has lost six in a row in January. The 33-year-old is down to 5-15-1 with a 3.83 GAA and an .866 save percentage through 21 starts this season. Joey Daccord is likely to handle the bulk of the goaltending duties until Grubauer can get out of his rut. The Kraken host the Sharks on Thursday.

Lukas Dostal G | ANA
Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Escapes with win
Dostal allowed four goals on 30 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Kraken.
Dostal gave up three of the goals in the first period before settling in and protecting a lead after the Ducks' strong middle frame. The 24-year-old has won back-to-back outings -- his last one came in relief of John Gibson, who was injured Saturday versus the Predators but was ultimately able to serve as backup Tuesday. Dostal is up to a 13-13-4 record with a 2.96 GAA and a .908 save percentage through 30 appearances. The Ducks play in Calgary on Thursday.
-
Jonas Johansson G | TB
Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Allows three goals in loss
Johansson made 15 saves in a 4-1 loss to Chicago on Tuesday.
He allowed three goals. Johansson is 2-4-0 with 19 goals allowed in his last six games. Johansson continues to struggle in his backup role, but he was pressed into duty when Andrei Vasilevskiy came down sick. We wouldn't rely on Johansson for fantasy help.
-
Arvid Soderblom G | CHI
Blackhawks' Arvid Soderblom: Big-time performance in third frame
Soderblom made 34 saves in a 4-1 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday.
Soderblom made 15 of his 34 saves in the third period to preserve the win. It was the Hawks' first road victory since Dec. 9 against the Rangers. Soderblom's overall record is mid, but his .910 save percentage is a strong metric, especially behind a porous team.
-
Dustin Wolf G | CGY
Flames' Dustin Wolf: Loses to Capitals
Wolf allowed three goals on 23 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.
Wolf's three-game winning streak came to an end after he allowed a goal in each period. The 23-year-old has been trusted with tougher matchups lately after being more sheltered early in the campaign. He's generally played well, going 6-3-0 with 22 goals allowed over nine games in January. He's now at an 18-8-2 record with a 2.56 GAA and a .915 save percentage over 28 appearances. The Flames' next game is an easier matchup at home Thursday versus the Ducks.

Jeremy Swayman G | BOS
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Allows two hat tricks in loss
Swayman made 26 saves in a 7-2 loss to Buffalo on Tuesday.
He allowed six goals. Swayman surrendered hat tricks to both Tage Thompson and JJ Peterka, though the latter's final goal was scored on an empty net. Swayman is 3-6-1 in his last 10 starts, and he's never really found his game since his contract hold-out. His .895 save percentage and 3.03 GAA are the worst of his career. Bruins fans are raging online about that contract already being an albatross, but we're cutting him some slack. It's hard to get in the groove after missing training camp. Swayman may be available in keeper and dynasty leagues if his manager thinks the online chatter is real. This year is a blip.
