  • Devin Cooley G | CGY

Flames' Devin Cooley: Between pipes Thursday

Cooley will patrol the home crease versus Ottawa on Thursday, according to Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Cooley has been strong in limited action for the Flames, not allowing more than three goals since Dec. 10, a span of nine games. He is 7-6-4 with a gaudy 2.28 GAA and an equally impressive .922 save percentage. The Senators are generating 3.30 goals per game, which ranks 11th in the NHL this season.

  • Timo Meier RW | NJ

Devils' Timo Meier: Lights lamp Wednesday

Meier scored a goal on seven shots and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Maple Leafs.

Meier has three goals over his last five games, adding 27 shots on net, 12 hits and a plus-4 rating in that span. The winger looks to be rolling in a top-six role, setting him up for a good stretch run even though the Devils are unlikely to push for a playoff spot. Meier is at 17 goals, 31 points, 203 shots, 103 hits, 38 blocked shots and a minus-16 rating across 57 appearances.

  • Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: In goal Thursday

Korpisalo will get the starting nod on the road against Nashville on Thursday, Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.

Korpisalo has appeared in 23 games for the Bruins this year, posting an 11-8-2 record, 3.11 GAA and one shutout. With an upcoming back-to-back, the 31-year-old netminder figures to split the starts versus Washington and Pittsburgh on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, with Jeremy Swayman.

  • Bruins' Jonathan Aspirot: Ruled out Thursday

Aspirot (illness) did not accompany the team to Nashville and will miss Thursday's tilt versus the Predators, Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.

Aspirot has two goals, six assists, 66 hits and 55 blocked shots with a stellar plus-23 rating over 40 games this season. Jordan Harris will enter the lineup, replacing Aspirot on Thursday. Aspirot could return as early as Saturday when Boston hosts Washington in a matinee contest.

  • Roope Hintz LW | DAL

Stars' Roope Hintz: Expected back Friday

Hintz (illness) is slated to return versus the Avalanche on Friday, Brien Rea of Victory+ reports.

Hintz will need to be activated off injured reserve before he can suit up, which should be a clear indicator that the 29-year-old center is ready to get back. In his last eight outings, Hintz has racked up one goal and seven helpers, including four power-play points.

  • Wild's Marcus Johansson: Out at least two games

Johansson (upper body) will not be available for the Wild's two-game road trip that begins Friday in Vegas, Joe Smith of The Athletic reports.

Johansson was injured in the third period Tuesday against Tampa Bay and did not return. The 35-year-old veteran has 13 goals and 26 assists across 57 appearances this season. Look for Michael McCarron to draw into the lineup in place of Johansson.

  • Cole Clayton D | VAN

Canucks' Cole Clayton: Called up from AHL

Clayton was recalled from AHL Abbotsford on Thursday.

Clayton was acquired from San Jose on Jan. 19 as part of the Kiefer Sherwood trade. Clayton had two goals and five assists in 49 AHL games, split between Abbotsford and AHL San Jose, before his recall. The Canucks could make a few deals before the trade deadline Friday, and that would leave them shorthanded on the blue line if Clayton were not recalled at this time.

  • Adam Edstrom C | NYR

    Rangers' Adam Edstrom: Activated Thursday

Edstrom (lower body) has been removed from injured reserve prior to Thursday's clash with Toronto, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Edstrom is slated to take on a fourth-line role, suiting up for the first time since Nov. 29 versus the Lightning. Prior to getting hurt, the 25-year-old center managed just four points in his last 24 outings. With Edstrom back, Jonny Brodzinski figures to serve as a healthy scratch Thursday.

  • Mammoth's Mikhail Sergachev: Game-time decision Thursday

Sergachev (undisclosed) will be a game-time call in Philadelphia on Thursday, per Cole Bagley of KSL Sports.

Sergachev did not partake in the morning skate, as head coach Andre Tourigny said he sat out for maintenance reasons. Sergachev has 10 goals and 32 assists over 61 games this season. The Mammoth recalled Dmitri Simashev on Thursday and he will join the lineup if Sergachev is unable to go.

  • Tyson Kozak C | BUF

Sabres' Tyson Kozak: Unavailable for Thursday's game

Kozak has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Penguins for an undisclosed reason, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.

While the exact reason for Kozak's absence isn't yet clear, head coach Lindy Ruff said after Thursday's morning skate that the 23-year-old is day-to-day and remained in Buffalo while the Sabres traveled to Pittsburgh. Josh Dunne is slated to take his place in the lineup Thursday, while Kozak's next opportunity to suit up will be Saturday against the Predators.
