Top Lions News

  • Lions' Kalif Raymond: Likely to miss Week 14 game

Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday that Raymond (ankle) is unlikely to be available for Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News reports.

Raymond is typically a tertiary target in the Detroit passing attack, but if he hadn't been nursing an ankle injury of his own, he might have been a candidate to see an expanded role Thursday with the status of top wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) uncertain for Week 14. The Lions will list Raymond as a non-participant Tuesday for the second straight practice, and he's expected to be formally ruled out for the Week 14 game following the release of Wednesday's injury report.

  • Lions' Miles Frazier: Not included on injury report

Frazier (knee) did not appear on the Lions' injury report Monday.

Frazier has yet to make his debut with Detroit after being selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but he appears to be on track to potentially do so Thursday against Dallas. The 24-year-old has been sidelined with a knee injury since August, and he'd provide the team with an additional depth option on the interior offensive line.

  • Lions' Taylor Decker: Limited to open week

Decker (shoulder) was a limited participant at practice Monday.

Decker was once again included on the injury report to open the week due to his ongoing shoulder issue. The offensive lineman hasn't missed a game this season and doesn't seem likely to do so Thursday against the Cowboys. Decker will have two more chances to log a full practice before facing Dallas in Week 14.

  • Lions' Frank Ragnow: Moved back to reserve/retired list

The Lions placed Ragnow (hamstring) on the reserve/retired list Monday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Ragnow came out retirement this past Wednesday in an attempt to bolster the Lions' offensive line, but that comeback was short lived after he failed his physical due to a Grade 3 hamstring strain. He has been placed back on the reserve/retired list, and it remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old will attempt to come out of retirement again going into the 2026 season. Graham Glasgow (knee) will remain as Detroit's starting center while Trystan Colon serves as the backup.

  • Lions' Graham Glasgow: Limited to open Week 14 prep

Glasgow (knee) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's practice report.

A knee injury prevented Glasgow from playing in the Lions' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Packers. He'll have two more chances to increase his practice participation and avoid an injury tag for Thursday's game against the Cowboys. Trystan Colon would get a second-straight start at center if Glasgow is unable to play.

  • Lions' Hayden Rucci: Claimed by Detroit

Rucci was claimed off waivers by the Lions on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Rucci was cut loose by the Dolphins on Saturday, but he has now quickly found a new home with the Lions. The 24-year-old will provide the team with some much needed depth at tight end with Sam LaPorta (back) done for the regular season and Brock Wright (neck) potentially set for a prolonged absence. Rucci has failed to garner a target while playing 39 offensive snaps over four contests with Miami this year.

  • Lions' Shane Zylstra: Limited practice Monday

Zylstra (knee) was a limited participant at practice Monday.

Zylstra had his 21-day practice window opened Monday after spending the last two months on injured reserve with what previously was called an ankle injury, but the Lions' first Week 14 practice report lists knee next to his name. The tight end is likely a long shot to play in Thursday night's matchup with the Cowboys, but with Brock Wright (neck) potentially set to miss extended time, Zylstra will provide the team with some much needed depth once activated from IR.

  • Lions' Sione Vaki: Dealing with thumb issue

Vaki (thumb) was a limited participant at practice Monday.

Vaki was able to play through an ankle injury in the team's 34-27 loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving, but he may have picked up a thumb injury in the contest. The running back's ability to practice in any capacity is a good sign, but he'll have two more chances to log a full practice and leave the injury behind before Thursday's matchup with the Cowboys.

  • Lions' Brian Branch: Limited at practice

Branch (toe) was a limited participant at practice Monday.

Branch was once again present on the injury report Monday as he continues to battle a toe injury over the last couple weeks. The safety was able to register 10 total tackles (seven solo) and two passes defensed while playing 95 percent of Detroit's defensive snaps in the team's 34-27 loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving, so he's likely on track to play again Thursday against Dallas. Branch will have two more chances to log a full practice before taking on the Cowboys.

  • Lions' Terrion Arnold: Needs season-ending surgery

The Lions placed Arnold on injured reserve Monday, and the cornerback is scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder later this week, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Arnold was previously sidelined for Weeks 11 and 12 due to a concussion, but he made his return to action in the Lions' 34-27 loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving Day. He recorded four solo tackles in the contest, but at some point along the way, he suffered an aggravation of the same shoulder injury that kept him out for Weeks 6 and 7. The Lions will send the 22-year-old in for surgery with the hope that it provides a more permanent fix for the recurring shoulder problem. He'll close out the 2025 campaign with 31 tackles, eight pass breakups and one interception over eight games.

  • Lions' Kerby Joseph: Back at practice Monday

Joseph (knee) returned to practice Monday, getting in a limited session, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.

Joseph has been sidelined since Week 6 but appears to be nearing a return to action, as the Lions make a push for the postseason. Thomas Harper has been starting at safety in Joseph's absence. Across six games this season, Joseph has recorded 18 tackles (14 solo) and four pass breakups, including three interceptions.

  • Lions' Brock Wright: Remains DNP on Monday

Wright (neck) did not practice Monday, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports.

Wright missed last Thursday's loss to the Packers, and it sounds like he could miss an extended period of time due to a tracheal injury. With both Sam LaPorta (back) and Wright sidelined against Green Bay, Ross Dwelley played 75 percent of the snaps, while Anthony Firkser was in on 24 percent of the downs. Neither made an impact in the box score, combining for a 2-7-0 line on four targets.

  • Lions' Kalif Raymond: Remains out of practice Monday

Raymond (ankle) did not practice Monday.

Raymond was injured in the Lions' Week 12 win over the Giants and missed last Thursday's loss to the Packers. If both Raymond and Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) are unable to play Thursday night against Dallas, the Lions would likely roll with a three-wide set of Jameson Williams, Isaac TeSlaa and Tom Kennedy. It's also notable that Sam LaPorta (back) remains on injured reserve.

  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Sits out practice Monday

St. Brown (ankle) didn't practice Monday.

As expected, St. Brown was idle to begin the practice week ahead of Thursday's game against the Cowboys. St. Brown was injured early in the first quarter of last Thursday's loss to the Packers and was diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain. If St. Brown is unable to play Week 14, Tom Kennedy would likely be the next man up as the slot receiver, but Jameson Williams should again be the biggest beneficiary in terms of target volume.
