Ty France 1B | SD
Reds' Ty France: Has four hits in win
France went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Monday's 5-3 win against the Astros.
France got a hit in all four of his at-bats Monday, making it his second career four-hit game and the first since 2021. France has been a solid piece for the Reds since acquiring him in July. The 30-year-old is hitting .284 in 29 games with the Reds after struggling to a .223 average in his first 88 games of the season with the Mariners.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Homers, swipes bag in win
Naylor went 2-for-4 with a double, a two-run homer and a stolen base in Monday's 4-2 win over the Royals.
Naylor took reliever Kris Bubic deep in the sixth inning for his 29th home run of the season. Naylor reached 100 RBI for the first time in his career with the long ball. The 27-year-old now joins Aaron Judge and teammate Jose Ramirez as the only three players this season to eclipse the century mark. Naylor has multi-hit efforts in four of his last five games following a 10-game stretch during which he went 2-for-35.

Yuli Gurriel DH | SD
Royals' Yuli Gurriel: Exits game with injury
Gurriel was lifted from Monday's game against the Guardians in the eighth inning due to right hamstring tightness, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Gurriel doubled in his third plate appearance of the day but pulled up lame into second base. The 40-year-old had been dealing with a hamstring strain while at Triple-A Gwinnett before being traded to the Royals, and he has aggravated the injury in just the second game with his new club. Interim manager Paul Hoover said after the game it's considered a "super mild strain" and implied that Gurriel is day-to-day.

Ryan Mountcastle 1B | BAL
Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Yet to resume swinging bat
Mountcastle (wrist) has yet to resume swinging a bat, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde admitted Monday that while Mountcastle's sprained left wrist is feeling better, he has "no idea" regarding a potential timetable for the first baseman's return. Mountcastle initially suffered the injury Aug. 22 before landing on the 10-day injured list Aug. 26. Ryan O'Hearn and Emmanuel Rivera have been handling first base with Mountcastle out.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Activation imminent
Walker (oblique) will rejoin the Diamondbacks for this week's series in San Francisco, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.
It would appear he will be activated from the 10-day injured list during the series, perhaps as soon as Tuesday. Walker has been working out at the team's spring training complex in Arizona and got in some live at-bats over the weekend. The first baseman has been sidelined since late July with a left oblique strain.

Dominic Smith 1B | SF
Reds' Dominic Smith: Dropped from 40-man
The Reds designated Smith for assignment Monday.
Smith went 5-for-26 with four runs scored and 11 strikeouts over nine games during his time as a Red. He still holds a .691 OPS on the season through 307 plate appearances and could contribute for another team down the stretch, though he would not be eligible to play in the postseason. Ty France will presumably take over as Cincinnati's primary first baseman.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Twins' Carlos Santana: Another day off Monday
Santana is absent from the lineup for Monday's game in Tampa Bay.
Santana was also out of the lineup for Sunday's win over the Blue Jays, although he received a couple plate appearances off the bench. The veteran switch hitter has gone 5-for-29 at the plate over his last nine contests, and the slump might be starting to cost him some playing time. Jose Miranda will pick up a second straight start at first base.
-
Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL
White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Taking seat Monday
Vaughn is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Baltimore.
Vaughn and Gavin Sheets have been alternating starts between first base and designated hitter over the last several weeks, but Vaughn will get a day off for Monday's series opener. Sheets will start at first base, and Corey Julks is in the lineup at DH.
-
Jonathan Singleton DH | HOU
Astros' Jon Singleton: Takes advantage of playing time
Singleton went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Sunday against the Royals.
Singleton has fallen into a rotation at first base with Yainer Diaz, Victor Caratini and Zach Dezenzo, leaving him with starts every two to three games. He was in the lineup Sunday hitting sixth and delivered his 12th home run of the season, which was also his third long ball in his last 11 appearances.

Paul Goldschmidt 1B | NYY
Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Three more hits Sunday
Goldschmidt went 3-for-5 with two doubles in Sunday's 14-7 win over the Yankees.
Remarkably, Goldschmidt didn't have an RBI or a run in the high-scoring contest, but he did his part to keep the line moving. The first baseman has gone 16-for-30 (.533) during his eight-game hitting streak, which has seen him produce a quartet of three-hit efforts. For the year, Goldschmidt is slashing .244/.302/.409 with 20 home runs, 55 RBI, 60 runs scored, 25 doubles and eight stolen bases over 130 contests. It's too late to fully salvage what's been a challenging year, but he can still help fantasy managers if he stays hot in September.
