Interim manager Chad Tracy said after Thursday's win over the Rangers that Contreras has a bruised right hand and is considered day-to-day, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

He appears to have dodged a serious injury after getting plunked in the hand by a 92.3-mph sinker from Jakob Junis in the eighth inning Thursday, as X-rays came back negative. It's unclear if Contreras will be available for Friday's series opener against Tampa Bay.

Young (head) underwent a CT scan, which came back negative, following his departure from Thursday night's 3-0 loss to the Phillies, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Young was sent to the hospital after he was taken off the field on a stretcher following a collision with Nolan McLean near first base in the sixth inning. Young is dealing with concussion symptoms according to interim manager Andy Green, and his status for the remainder of the 2026 campaign is now in question.

Young was carted off the field in the sixth inning of Thursday night's contest against the Phillies due to an apparent head injury, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Young suffered the injury during a scary collision with starting pitcher Nolan McLean while trying to field a groundball with two outs in the top of the sixth. A stretcher was utilized to move him off the field, though he encouragingly gave a thumbs up as he was carted off. Mark Vientos replaced Young at first base, and more information on the latter's status will likely be provided following the conclusion of Thursday's contest.

Grissom isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against Minnesota, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Grissom will take a day to regroup Thursday after slashing .176/.254/.333 across 14 games since the beginning of September. Moises Ballesteros will fill in at first base, allowing Tyler Heineman to start at catcher.

Pasquantino is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Houston.

After going 1-for-7 with a home run in the first two games of the series, Pasquantino will get a breather in the series finale. Salvador Perez will slot in at first base for the Royals in the rubber match.

Walker isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Walker will get a chance to reset Thursday after going 0-for-16 with five strikeouts over his last five games. LaMonte Wade will fill in at first base and bat ninth.
