Freeman went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI against the Blue Jays in a 14-2 victory Monday.

Freeman was one of seven Dodgers with multiple hits in the offensive explosion. His homer was a no-doubter that traveled an estimated 438 feet in the third inning. Freeman began the campaign by going 3-for-14 over his first four games. However, he's now in the midst of a six-game hitting streak during which he's batting .308 (8-for-26) with three home runs, three doubles, 10 RBI and six runs scored.

Schanuel is not in the lineup for Monday's tilt versus Atlanta, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Ace left-hander Chris Sale is on the bump for Atlanta, so the lefty-swinging Schanuel will get a breather. Switch hitter Jeimer Candelario is filling in at first base and will bat cleanup for the Angels.

Clemens is absent from the lineup for Monday's tilt versus the Tigers.

It's the first time in five games against right-handed pitching this season that Clemens is not in the starting lineup. Josh Bell will handle first base, Byron Buxton will be the designated hitter and James Outman will grab a start in center field for the Twins.

The Royals optioned Loftin to Triple-A Omaha on Monday.

Loftin will cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to Michael Massey (calf), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. The 27-year-old utility player had appeared in four of the Royals' first nine games, going 2-for-9 with a double, two walks and three runs.

Alonso went 1-for-4 with an RBI double Sunday in the Orioles' 8-2 loss to the PIrates.

After leaving the Mets over the winter and joining the Orioles on a five-year, $155 million deal, Alonso has gotten off to a slow start to his time in Baltimore. The veteran first baseman has struck out at a career-worst 33.3 percent clip through his first nine games, which has played a large part in limiting the career .253 hitter to a .229 batting average thus far. The low average would be more palatable if Alonso were hitting for power, but his double in Sunday's game was just his second extra-base hit of the campaign. Alonso's average exit velocity and hard-hit rate place him in the 93rd and 90th percentile, respectively, of all players in the early going, so fantasy managers should have some hope that the five-time All-Star eventually turns things around.

Young went 3-for-3 with a double in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Giants.

It was Young's fourth start of the season, and he figures to get regular at-bats against right-handed pitching while Juan Soto (calf) is sidelined. Soto remains day-to-day but missed the final two games of the series against the Giants. Young is slashing .385/.467/.538 with a pair of doubles, one RBI, two runs scored and a 2:2 BB:K across 15 plate appearances this season.

Walker went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 12-10 loss to the Athletics.

Walker hit a two-run homer off J.T. Ginn in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game 5-5. It was Walker's second home run in as many days and second of the season. He's now slashing .324/.405/.649 with eight extra-base hits, 11 RBI, seven runs scored and a 5:7 BB:K across 40 plate appearances to begin the season.

Kurtz went 2-for-3 with a double, three walks, one run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 12-10 win over the Astros.

Kurtz entered play Sunday in a 2-for-24 slump with a 6:13 BB:K to begin the season. Kurtz walked in the first, singled and stole his second base in the third, walked and scored in the fifth, hit a ground-rule double in the sixth for his first extra-base hit of the season and walked again in the seventh. Perhaps it will help propel Kurtz into a hot streak at the plate. He's now slashing .148/.361/.185 across 36 plate appearances and is still looking for his first home run and RBI of the season.

Rice went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer, three walks and an additional run scored in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Marlins.

Rice put the Yankees ahead early with a 410-foot blast off Pete Fairbanks in the first inning. The first baseman has been on a tear to open the year, logging at least one hit in seven of his first eight games. Overall, Rice is 10-for-27 with seven extra-base hits (including three homers), 11 RBI and a 1.380 OPS through his first 36 plate appearances.

Horwitz went 1-for-2 with a single, two walks and a run scored Sunday against the Orioles.

Horwitz started his fourth straight game at first base, and he's reached base in each of those contests. He's been particularly patient, with his two free passes Sunday bringing his walk rate to 14.3 percent. Despite the value he has brought to Pittsburgh's lineup, he has only two runs and two RBI with only a .174 batting average across 28 plate appearances.
