Barreto (elbow) signed a minor-league contract with the Astros on Tuesday that includes an invite to big-league camp, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Barreto elected free agency after being outrighted off the Angels' 40-man roster in October, but he's now latched on with a new team. Once a highly-regarded prospect, the 26-year-old has been unable to make much of an impact since making his big-league debut in 2017, and he went 2-for-27 during his brief stint in the majors last season.

Arroyo and the Red Sox agreed Tuesday on a one-year, $1.2 million contract to avoid arbitration, Sean McAdam of BostonSportsJournal.com reports.

Arroyo will likely continue to handle a utility role in the infield heading into his third season in Boston. He saw most of his action at second base in 2021 and hit .260 with six home runs, one stolen base, 25 RBI and 22 runs across 180 plate appearances.

Biggio and the Blue Jays avoided arbitration Tuesday by agreeing to a a one-year, $2,122,500 deal, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.

Biggio will get a decent raise in arbitration despite the fact that he's coming off the worst season of his three-year career. He projects to open the season as Toronto's primary second baseman, but he'll have to hit better than the .224/.322/.356 line he produced last season if he's to keep the job.

Torres and the Yankees agreed Tuesday on a one-year, $6.25 million contract to avoid arbitration, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

He'll be getting a $2.25 million raise after a 2021 season in which he submitted a career-low .697 OPS over 516 plate appearances. Though Torres has taken major steps backward in the power department since slugging 38 home runs in 2019, he wasn't a total zero for fantasy managers last season thanks largely to the career-high 14 steals he provided. Even if Torres remains active as a runner during the upcoming season, he may not have as clear of a path to high-volume plate appearances compared to previous years. With the recent re-signing of Anthony Rizzo plus the additions of Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Torres will be battling with those three plus DJ LeMahieu for one of the four spots in the Yankees infield when all five are healthy.

Biggio (elbow) will start at second base and bat sixth in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees, Marly Rivera of ESPN.com reports.

Biggio will be making his spring debut Tuesday after he was slightly delayed in the early stages of camp while recovering from a sprained left elbow. The 26-year-old currently projects as the Blue Jays' Opening Day second baseman, but he won't head into the season with much job security after slashing an abysmal .224/.322/.356 with a 26.6 percent strikeout rate across 293 plate appearances during an injury-plagued 2021 campaign.

Rosario agreed to a one-year, $4.95 million contract with the Guardians on Monday, avoiding arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.

Rosario's contract for 2022 will more than double what he took home a season ago ($2.4 million). Last year he slashed .282/.321/.409 with 11 homers, 57 RBI and 13 stolen bases over 141 games. Rosario is an appealing fantasy option as long as he is playing every day and hitting high in the batting order. Guardians manager Terry Francona said last week that Rosario will move primarily between shortstop and left field in 2022, according to Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Biggio is making his way back from a sprained left elbow but will return to game action soon, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

Biggio suffered the injury over the offseason, but he'll still be able to get close to a full Grapefruit League schedule in if he makes it back soon, so his readiness for Opening Day doesn't appear to be seriously threatened. He lines up as Toronto's primary second baseman, but his grip on the job may not be too firm after he struggled to a .224/.322/.356 line in 79 games last season.

Miller went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-2 win over the White Sox.

That's an encouraging first spring game for Miller, who enters 2022 as a likely utility man for the Guardians. He struggled through 202 plate appearances last season, posting a .204/.243/.309 slash line with four home runs, 18 RBI, 17 runs scored and two stolen bases. Miller showed promise with a .297/.374/.489 slash line in 48 games with Triple-A Columbus, but he'll likely have to outplay Yu Chang in spring training to see a semi-regular role this year.

Hernandez is expected to be the primary starter in center field after Boston signed Trevor Story on Sunday.

Hernandez was assumed to be the starter in center with Christian Arroyo poised to start at second base until the Story news broke Sunday. The one wrinkle was that if the Red Sox, who were looking to add a right-handed bat, signed an outfielder, they could move Hernandez back to second base. This news seemingly locks in Hernandez as an outfielder. Story has played mostly shortstop during his career but will move to second base, while Xander Bogaerts, the longest-tenured member of the Red Sox and a clubhouse leader, will continue at short.

Arroyo is expected to become a utility infielder following Boston's signing of Trevor Story on Sunday, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.

Arroyo had been projected as the starter at second base up until Sunday's news broke. The 26-year-old also indicated he's willing to take outfield reps to help himself get on the field, per Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican, though it's unclear if the Red Sox plan to play him in the outfield. The signing also appears to lock in Enrique Hernandez in center field. Arroyo has experience at all four infield positions.
