    Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Ignites offense

Marte went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double and two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Nationals.

Marte batted leadoff and took the first pitch he saw to right-center field for a double, setting the stage for Arizona's three-run first inning. He later singled and came around on Corbin Carroll's home run in the ninth that gave the Diamondbacks extra cushion. Marte has put last season's sub-par results behind him and improved across the board. The second baseman is slashing .279/.341/.480 with a 120 wRC+.

  • Miguel Vargas 2B | CHW

Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Goes deep Wednesday

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two total RBI in a loss to the Reds on Wednesday.

Vargas blasted a solo shot to center field in the second inning and added a run-scoring double in the third. The rookie extended his modest hitting streak to five games, during which he's slashing .429/.529/.857 with three extra-base hits, three RBI and a steal. Vargas didn't hit his first homer until his 25th game of the campaign, but he's perked up a bit since with six long balls across his past 33 contests.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Brewers' Luis Urias: On bench Wednesday

Urias is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Orioles.

Urias will grab some rest after going 0-for-6 with three strikeouts (and a pair of walks) in his first two games since returning Monday from a severe hamstring strain. Owen Miller is at third base for the Brewers on Wednesday and Andruw Monasterio will play second.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Optioned to Nashville

Milwaukee optioned Turang to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Willy Adames (concussion) has been activated from the 7-day injured list and will reclaim duties as Milwaukee's everyday shortstop, leaving no room for Turang to stick around as a regular in the middle infield. Turang made the Brewers' Opening Day roster and a had a productive game in Tuesday's win over the Orioles, but the 23-year-old carries a weak .205/.254/.307 slash line through his first 177 major-league plate appearances.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Gets Wednesday off

Rojas is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Rojas earned his day off after he went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win, but he likely would have been on the bench regardless with the Nationals bringing southpaw Patrick Corbin to the hill. Emmanuel Rivera will start at third base and bat second while the lefty-hitting Rojas takes a seat.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Steals bag in win

Turang went 2-for-4 with a triple, a walk, a stolen base and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Orioles.

Turang laced a triple to right in the fourth but was left stranded and later provided a clutch RBI single in the eighth to tie the game up at three. Tuesday's game was Turang's first with a hit since May 27, which also was coincidentally the last time he tallied an extra-base knock. The growing pains have been apparent for the 23-year-old rookie, as he had tallied just one hit over his last 41 at-bats before his triple. Turang now sits at a slash line of .205/.254/.307 with three homers, 14 RBI, 16 runs, nine steals and an 11:48 BB:K over 177 plate appearances.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

    Marlins' Luis Arraez: Surpasses .400

Arraez went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 6-1 victory over the Royals.

Arraez is now batting an insane .706 (12-for-17) over his last four games. He's only struck out twice in 89 at-bats since May 12, lowering his K-rate to 4.7 percent. Overall, Arraez is slashing .401/.451/.495 with a homer, 30 RBI and 24 runs scored through 235 plate appearances this season.

  • Miguel Vargas 2B | CHW

Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Swipes bag in loss

Vargas went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Reds.

Vargas walked and stole his third base of the year in the sixth and later notched a base hit in the eighth. The 23-year-old has recorded a hit in each of his first four games in June and also has a 3:3 BB:K over that span. Vargas has endured growing pains over the course of his first full MLB season but will continue to see the lion's share of starts at second base. He's slashing .228/.333/.413 with five homers, 26 RBI, 28 runs and a 28:43 BB:K over 216 plate appearances.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Launches 13th homer

Albies went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Mets.

He got Atlanta on the board with a second-inning shot off Carlos Carrasco. Albies has gone yard in back-to-back games and three times in the last five contests, and with 13 homers in 60 games on the year, the second baseman is on pace to break the career-high mark of 30 home runs he slugged in 2021.
