  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Still not starting

McNeil (hamstring) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

McNeil left Monday's game against the Marlins due to right hamstring tightness and will be held out of the lineup for a second consecutive game. However, manager Buck Showalter said Wednesday that he expects McNeil to return to the lineup Friday or Saturday against the Marlins, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. Pete Alonso will serve as the designated hitter while Dominic Smith starts at first base.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Drives in two

Rodgers went 1-for-4 with a walk, a double, two RBI and a run scored Tuesday against the Marlins.

Rodgers made his lone hit count, smacking a two-run double to right field in the third inning. He surprisingly struggled through the recent six-game homestand by collecting only two hits across 24 at-bats. However, he was able to get back on track on the road Tuesday and brought his RBI total on the season to 31.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Getting extra run

Dubon went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and an RBI on Tuesday against the Mets.

Dubon has been in the lineup for consecutive games, benefitting from the absences of Jeremy Pena (thumb) and Aledmys Diaz (shoulder). Diaz remains day-to-day, so Dubon could see his playing time dry up quickly. However, Dubon has taken advantage of the extra run, collecting four hits with a home run, a double and three RBI in the two-game span.

  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Steals fifth base

Gimenez went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in a 6-5 win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Gimenez has quietly been putting together a quality campaign in Cleveland this year. His two-hit game to lifted his average to .305 and the stolen base gives him five on the season. Gimenez stole 11 bases in as many attempts over 210 plate appearances in 2021, so he has the potential to find another gear and pick up the pace in that category, especially considering his sprint speed is currently in the 94th percentile according to Baseball Savant.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Twins' Luis Arraez: Clubs fourth homer

Arraez went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in a 6-5 loss to the Guardians on Tuesday.

Arraez continued his impressive 2022 campaign with two hits, including the timely blast in the seventh. The occasional home run is a nice bonus from a contact hitter batting .362 and getting on base at an elite .442 clip. Arraez has found a home at the top of the Twins lineup against right-handed pitching and boasts a 162 WRC+.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: No hits in return

Marte (hamstring) went 0-for-4 with a walk and two strikeouts in Tuesday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Padres.

Marte didn't get on base until the 11th inning, and he was promptly lifted for a pinch runner (pitcher Luke Weaver). Marte missed four games before serving as the designated hitter Tuesday, and he may need to stick in that role for a little longer before returning to his regular position at second base. He's now batting .264 on the year after Tuesday's lackluster performance at the dish.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Launches first homer

India went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk during Tuesday's 8-2 loss to the Dodgers.

India went 3-for-22 in his first five games since being activated off the injured list last week, and he finally went deep Tuesday for the first time in 2022. The 25-year-old has spent most of the season sidelined by the hamstring injury and has played in only 17 games, and he's mostly struggled when available with a .246/.288/.333 slash line.

  • Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: No sign of return from injured list

Polanco (back) is unlikely to return from the injured list when eligible Thursday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "It could be longer than 10 days. I think it's just fair to leave it at that," said manager Rocco Baldelli.

Polanco has not started full baseball activities, so he could be out awhile since he'll likely need a rehab assignment before returning. Polanco underwent an MRI, which didn't show any major concerns, but it's not a good sign that he's not fully working out yet.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Two blasts in win

Gorman went 4-for-4 with two homers and four RBI in a 6-2 win Tuesday in Milwaukee.

Gorman drove in a run on a single in the first, blasted solo shots in the fourth and the seventh and ended his night with a run-scoring single in the ninth. It was his first two-homer game as a big leaguer and the second time he recorded four hits. The 22-year-old slugger has 21 homers in 250 plate appearances combined between Triple-A and the majors.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Opens scoring with homer

Altuve went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Mets.

Altuve started the scoring with a third-inning solo shot. He'd gone six games without an RBI and five contests without an extra-base hit prior to Tuesday's homer to the Crawford Boxes. The second baseman is up to 13 homers, 24 RBI, 34 runs scored and three stolen bases while slashing .273/.346/.517 across 228 plate appearances.
