Arroyo (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Wednesday.

Arroyo was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to an illness, and manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that the 27-year-old has tested positive for COVID-19. Arroyo will be forced to isolate from the team until he clears the league's health and safety protocols, while Jarren Duran was recalled from Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday to take his place on the active roster.

Arauz was claimed off waivers by the Orioles and optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.

Arauz was designated for assignment by Boston on Wednesday, but he'll land a spot on the Orioles' 40-man roster. Over 24 games at Triple-A Worcester this year, the 23-year-old hit .185 with five doubles, 11 runs, three RBI and a stolen base.

Polanco (back) isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Polanco continues to deal with back soreness and will be held out of the lineup for a third consecutive game. Manager Rocco Baldelli said Wednesday that Polanco underwent an MRI that didn't reveal anything too concerning, so he should be considered day-to-day for now, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Luis Arraez will shift to the keystone while Jose Miranda draws the start at first base Wednesday.

Donovan went 5-for-9 with a walk, a double, an RBI and four runs scored across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of the Pirates.

The 25-year-old hit leadoff and started in right field in the matinee, reaching base twice and scoring the Cardinals' first run in a 3-1 win, before shifting to third base in the nightcap and erupting for four hits and three runs out of the two hole in a 9-1 rout. Donovan has piled up 10 hits in the last four games, boosting his slash line in June to a stunning .382/.452/.491 through 14 contests.

Massey was promoted to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Massey posted a .305/.359/.495 slash line with nine home runs, nine stolen bases, 48 RBI and 36 runs scored in 54 games with Double-A Northwest Arkansas this year, so it's clear he was due to move up a level. He's shown quality five-category potential at every level he's played at in the minors so far, but he'll likely finish out 2022 at Triple-A.

Rojas went 0-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and three strikeouts in Tuesday's 5-3 extra-innings loss to the Reds.

Rojas walked and stole second in the 11th inning. He represented the winning run, but Ketel Marte's groundout ended the inning. This was the first time all year Rojas has been held without a hit in consecutive games -- he's 0-for-9 against the Reds in this series. The 27-year-old's mini-slump has dropped his slash line to .263/.346/.415 with four home runs, four stolen bases, 16 RBI and 19 runs scored through 33 contests.

Mendick went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.

The successful theft of third base against the battery of Will Vest and Tucker Barnhart was Mendick's first stolen base in the big leagues (145th game). Mendick has been a bright spot for the White Sox this month, hitting safely in 10 of 12 games, but his playing time could soon take a hit with Tim Anderson (groin) expected back next week.

Castro went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's loss to the White Sox.

Castro recorded three hits for the second consecutive game, pushing his average to .308 for the season. Unfortunately, the seven hitters behind Castro recorded just three hits combined, so he wasn't able to come around to score at any point. The versatile 28-year-old is still hitting well and should play most days for a Detroit team that is desperate for offensive production.

Rengifo is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old is in the midst of a 2-for-25 slump and finds himself on the bench for the second consecutive game. Tyler Wade will man the keystone in Rengifo's place Tuesday.
