  • Andres Gimenez SS | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Launches grand slam

Gimenez went 3-for-4 with a grand slam and a double during Friday's 9-8 victory against the Athletics.

Gimenez doubled in the first inning, connected on a grand slam in the third and singled in the seventh en route to recording his second three-hit game of the season. The 23-year-old holds an impressive .349 average through 43 games this season, though that mark is propped up by an unsustainable .419 BABIP.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Extends modest hit streak

Ibanez went 2-for-3 in Friday's 6-3 loss to Atlanta.

Ibanez extended his hitting streak to four games and has hit safely in six of the last seven (7-for-20, .350) with two extra-base hits and two RBI. He's spent all seven of those games batting seventh or later in the batting order, but Ibanez could move up where there are more RBI opportunities if he continues to hit.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Pops second homer

Torres went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 12-2 rout of the Royals.

He launched the Yankees' fourth and final homer of the night by taking Jake Brentz deep in the eighth inning. Torres is showing signs of life at the plate, and while Friday's long ball was only his second of the season, the 25-year-old is slashing .333/.364/.619 over his last seven games.

  • Jose Rodriguez 2B | PHI

White Sox's Jose Rodriguez: Improving results at Double-A

Rodriguez has hit .229/.280/.371 with one home run, five RBI and nine runs scored across 74 plate appearances to begin the season with Double-A Birmingham.

Rodriguez got very brief exposure at Double-A to conclude last season and was assigned to the level to begin 2022. He got off to a dreadful start, striking out at least once in seven of his first eight starts. However, Rodriguez has swung the bat better since, collecting at least one hit in 12 of his last 14 games, raising his average from .189 to .229. Still only 21-years-old, Rodriguez has moved through the White Sox system relatively quickly and is holding his own during his first extended look in the upper levels of the minor leagues.

  • Liover Peguero SS | PIT

Pirates' Liover Peguero: Hitting well at Altoona

Peguero has hit .338/.357/.603 with three home runs, 16 RBI and 12 runs scored across 70 plate appearances with Double-A Altoona to begin the 2022 season.

Peguero has made the most of his first opportunity in the upper levels of the minor leagues. His 13.6 percent strikeout rate stands out in a positive way, particularly when contrasted with the fact that he was punched out on strikes 25.2 percent of the time with High-A Greensboro in 2021. While it's still too early in the campaign to draw conclusions, Peguero has also shown plenty of pop by accruing a .281 ISO and .439 wOBA. The only downside to his profile at this point is a three percent walk rate, though given the way he's impacted the ball it's difficult to argue he should be swinging less. Pittsburgh moves its prospects notoriously slowly, so Peguero isn't likely to see the majors until some point in 2023.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Drives in two runs

McNeil went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Friday's 3-0 win over the Phillies.

McNeil's two-run single in the fifth inning proved to be the only offense the Mets needed as the pitching staff combined to no-hit Philadelphia. The 30-year-old has delivered mulit-hit performances in four straight starts, going 8-for-14 during that stretch. He's now slashing .344/.400/.500 with nine RBI this season.

  • Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Bat stays hot

Kim went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an additional run scored and a strikeout Friday against the Pirates.

He was hitting .182 on April 24 and is now hitting .273 just a few days later, having notched six hits in his last three games. Kim also has two home runs and seven RBI over this three-game heater.

  • Red Sox's Christian Arroyo: Knocks two-run shot

Arroyo went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Friday's 3-1 win over the Orioles.

Arroyo took Kyle Bradish deep during Boston's three-run second inning in what proved to be the only offense the pitching staff needed. It was his first home run since July 16 of last season. He improved his slash line to .205/.220/.282 through 42 plate appearances.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Brewers' Luis Urias: Evaluation coming Sunday

Urias (quadriceps) will stay on a rehab assignment with Double-A Biloxi through the weekend before being reevaluated, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

He is through four rehab games, going 3-for-15 with one double, four strikeouts and three walks over that stretch. It's unclear if that evaluation will be to determine whether Urias is ready to be activated or ready to be bumped up to Triple-A.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Guardians' Amed Rosario: Out of Friday's lineup

Rosario is not in Friday's lineup against the A's.

He is hitting .211/.259/.263 with zero home runs and one steal in 19 games. Andres Gimenez will start at shortstop while Ernie Clement gets the start at the keystone.
