Urias (calf) isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Urias left Monday's game due to a right calf cramp, and he'll be out of the lineup for a second consecutive game as a result. He'll also be able to heal during Thursday's scheduled off day. Daniel Robertson will take over at shortstop Wednesday, batting seventh.

Lopez went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 14-7 loss to the Rays.

Lopez lined a two-RBI single in the third inning and came around to score on a Carlos Santana double. In the sixth, Lopez got aboard with a double and scored on a Whit Merrifield single. Through 52 plate appearances, Lopez is slashing .304/.353/.391 with two stolen bases, five RBI and eight runs scored. He has yet to hit a homer, but he has a triple and two doubles among his 14 hits. The 26-year-old has filled in admirably as the primary shortstop while Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) remains out.

Short was recalled from the Tigers' alternate training site Wednesday.

Short can play second base and shortstop -- two positions that are typically occupied by Niko Goodrum and Willi Castro, so it will be interesting to see how he gets deployed. Renato Nunez was designated for assignment in a corresponding move, so there will also be at-bats available at designated hitter. The 25-year-old hit .211/.338/.414 with a 13.1 percent walk rate and 31.3 percent strikeout rate at Triple-A with the Cubs in 2019.

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a home run, a walk, two total RBI and two total runs in a 14-7 win over the Royals on Tuesday.

Lowe kicked off the scoring in the rout with an RBI fielder's choice in the first inning. He added a solo shot to center field in the fourth for his second homer of the campaign. The second baseman has yet to really get going this season, as he is slashing just .180/.306/.328 through 17 contests.

Andrus went 1-for-2 with a walk, two steals and a run scored in a 7-0 win during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Twins.

These were the first two steals of the season for the 32-year-old, who then went 0-for-2 in the nightcap. Andrus has had a rough start to his first campaign in Oakland, slashing .136/.185/.186 through 18 games with only three RBI and three runs.

Arroyo went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Arroyo started at second base with Alex Verdugo resting, which caused Enrique Hernandez to shift to the outfield. He took advantage of the opportunity, recording his third multi-hit game of the season. Overall, he's hitting .357/.386/.524 with three RBI and six runs scored across 44 plate appearances, though he'll likely have a hard time finding regular at-bats when Boston's lineup is at full strength.

Urias (calf) will sit Tuesday against the Padres, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Urias exited Monday's game due to calf cramps, and the issue is evidently serious enough for him to sit for at least one more game. The Brewers have an off day Thursday, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see Urias sit Wednesday as well in order to get three straight days to heal. Daniel Robertson will play shortstop in his absence.

Biggio (hand) is starting in right field and batting sixth Tuesday against the Red Sox.

He missed a few games with a bruised hand. Biggio is hitting .171 with a .292 OBP, two home runs, zero steals and a 33.3 percent strikeout rate through 13 games.

Espinal was recalled from the alternate training site prior to Tuesday's game against the Red Sox.

He will likely be back and forth between the alternate training site and the majors all season long. Espinal has played in three games, collecting three hits in eight at-bats.

Arroyo (foot) will start at second base and bat second Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Though Arroyo wasn't forced to exit the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the White Sox, he appeared to be in pain after fouling a ball off his foot earlier in the contest. He went unused in Monday's 11-4 win, but he looks like he'll be good to go as the Red Sox open a two-game set with the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Arroyo will be entering the lineup as an indirect replacement for Alex Verdugo, covering the keystone while Enrique Hernandez moves to center field.
