Estrada was designated for assignment Tuesday.

Estrada has never really seen a long look at the big-league level, so a rebuilding team may look to claim him off waivers. This clears a spot for Rougned Odor on the Yankees' 40-man roster.

Kim will bat seventh and play shortstop Tuesday against the Giants.

Kim's role at the start of the season was unclear, as the Padres had no obvious place to get him regular at-bats. He's suddenly a far more important piece of the team's roster with Fernando Tatis Jr. set to miss an extended period with a shoulder injury. It remains to be seen whether or not he's a true everyday shortstop in Tatis' absence, but the injury should certainly open up significantly more playing time for Kim. He hit .306 with 30 homers and 23 steals in his final season before making the jump from Korea and could be a cross-category producer for fantasy teams if he gets into the lineup on a regular basis.

Hernandez is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Rays, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

This is his first day off of the season, and it will come against right-handed ace Tyler Glasnow. He's 2-for-15 with zero home runs, zero steals and a 4:2 K:BB. Christian Arroyo will start at second base and lead off.

Lowe went 2-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Red Sox on Monday.

Lowe pushed his average and on-base percentage to .364 and .462, respectively, with his first multi-hit effort of the new campaign. The 26-year-old's early season success -- he's hit safely in all three of his starts thus far -- is in stark contrast to a Grapefruit League slate during which he slashed .179/.267/.205 across 45 plate appearances.

Garcia isn't included in the lineup Tuesday for the Nationals' season opener versus Atlanta, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington reports.

Dave Martinez suggested Monday that Garcia would likely be the team's Opening Day starter at second base while Josh Harrison is on COVID-19 injured list, but those plans changed after Trea Turner was able to avoid the IL. Turner was absent Monday when the Nationals were cleared to resume workouts, but he's since been given the green light to join the big club for Opening Day after passing through all COVID-19 protocols. With Turner locked in at shortstop, Hernan Perez will shift over to second base, bumping Garcia to the bench in the process. Garcia looks like he could serve as a utility option in the infield until one or both of Harrison and Jordy Mercer return from the COVID-19 IL.

Polanco will start at shortstop and bat second Tuesday against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

With manager Rocco Baldelli extending Andrelton Simmons a day off, Polanco will move off second base for the first time this season after having made all four of his starts at the position. Polanco has played a small part in Minnesota's 23-run outburst between its last two games, going 2-for-9 with a walk while scoring three times and driving in one.

Arraez (illness) will serve as the Twins' leadoff man and starting second baseman Tuesday against the Tigers, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Arraez will check back into the starting nine after he was removed early in Monday's 15-6 win over the Tigers due to a case of the stomach flu. Before exiting, Arraez recorded a base hit and a walk in his two plate appearances, coming around to score on both occasions. He'll carry a .538/.647/.615 batting line into Tuesday's matchup.

Altuve went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's loss against the Angels.

Altuve is enjoying a strong start to the season as the Astros' leadoff hitter, hitting safely in each of his first five appearances and recording two multi-hit games during that span. He's gone two games without a walk and has yet to launch a homer in 2021, but there's no question he's started the campaign on a strong note, making a major impact at the top of the order for the Astros. In fact, he currently leads the majors in runs with nine.

Lopez went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Monday's 3-0 win over Cleveland.

Lopez showed some speed to get aboard with an infield single in the second inning. He came around to score on Whit Merrifield's two-run homer. The 26-year-old Lopez has served as Kansas City's primary shortstop with Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) out to begin the season. Lopez is hitting .429 with two runs scored and an RBI in four games, although he'll likely return to a bench role when Mondesi is able to play again.

Rosario went 1-for-2 with a walk in Monday's 3-0 loss to Kansas City.

Rosario was one of two Cleveland batters to reach base twice in this one, though he was unable to cross the plate in what turned out to be a shutout for the visiting Royals. He's now 3-for-8 with a walk and two runs scored in four games.
