  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Tigers' Gleyber Torres: Homers in Saturday's win

Torres went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 8-6 win over the Athletics.

Torres has two homers and seven RBI over his last four games. The second baseman put the Tigers up 4-2 when he went deep in the fifth inning Saturday. He's now batting .266 with a .775 OPS, six homers, 25 RBI, 31 runs scored, eight doubles and no stolen bases over 54 contests this season.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | PHI

Giants' Luis Arraez: Scratched due to cramps

Arraez was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Padres due to cramping, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Arraez experienced the symptoms during pregame warmups and was removed from the Giants' lineup for "precautionary reasons" after exiting due to the same issue Friday. Osleivis Basabe will now start at second base and bat ninth while Bryce Eldridge hits out of the leadoff spot.

  • Nate Furman 2B | SF

Giants' Nate Furman: Called up by San Francisco

The Giants selected Furman's contract from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The move corresponds with the Giants placing Jesus Rodriguez (elbow) on the 10-day injured list. Furman has spent the entire 2026 season in Triple-A, where he is slashing .284/.370/.405 with 18 steals (in 23 chances), seven home runs, 42 RBI and 22 doubles across 434 plate appearances. His first appearance in a Giants' uniform will officially mark his major-league debut.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | PHI

    Giants' Luis Arraez: Starting Saturday

Arraez (cramps) will start at second base and bat leadoff Saturday against the Padres.

Arraez was removed early from Friday's game as a precaution due to cramping, but the issue appears to have resolved itself ahead of Saturday's tilt. The 29-year-old has been seeing the ball extremely well as of late, going 14-for-34 (.412) with six RBI and four runs in his last eight games.

  • Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Back in action Saturday

Chisholm is starting at second base and batting fifth Saturday against the Cubs.

Chisholm exited Thursday's contest against the White Sox after cramping up, and he was held out of Friday's series opener against the Cubs. However, manager Aaron Boone stated ahead of Friday's contest that Chisholm was "fully active," so he was likely just held out because Chicago sent a lefty starter to the mound. All seems to be well with Chisholm given his return to the lineup Saturday.

  • Cole Young 2B | SEA

Mariners' Cole Young: Lifts 14th homer

Young went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Twins.

Young ended up hitting .258 (23-for-89) with five homers and nine RBI over 24 games in July. He's now hit atop the order in seven straight games as he settles in with consistency at the plate. For the season, the second baseman is batting .261 with a .733 OPS, 14 homers, 50 RBI, 52 runs scored, 14 doubles, three triples and three stolen bases over 111 contests.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | PHI

    Giants' Luis Arraez: Battling cramps

Arraez was removed from Friday's game against the Padres due to cramps, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Manager Tony Vitello said after the game that Arraez began to cramp up while playing in the San Diego heat, so he was pulled from the game as a precaution. If the 29-year-old infielder needs another day off to recover, Christian Koss, Jesus Rodriguez and Osleivis Basabe would be in the running to fill in at second base.

  • Luis Urias 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Luis Urias: Clutch two-run single Friday

Urias went 1-for-1 with a two-run single in the Blue Jays' 3-1 win over the Cardinals on Friday.

With the bases loaded, Urias pinch hit for Davis Schneider in the eighth inning. The former answered the call by smacking a single to left field that brought George Springer and Daulton Varsho home to give the Blue Jays the lead for good. Urias has gone 10-for-43 (.233) with three home runs and six RBI since he was traded by Arizona to Toronto on June 20.

  • Red Sox's Anthony Seigler: Sitting Friday

Seigler is not in the Red Sox's starting lineup against the Dodgers on Friday, Ari Alexander of 7 News Boston reports.

Seigler will be on the bench for Friday's series opener while Nick Sogard starts at second base and bats out of the leadoff spot. Seigler has gone 6-for-24 with one home run and two RBI over his last seven games.

  • Mariners' Brendan Donovan: Returning from injured list Tuesday

Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Friday that Donovan (groin) has been cleared to rejoin the Mariners but is not expected to be back until Tuesday against the Tigers, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Although ready to return, Donovan will spend time with his family "but he's through his rehab. He feels good and ready to go," Hollander relayed Friday. Donovan's return is good news for the Mariners, whose infield depth took a hit after the team placed J.P. Crawford (wrist) on the 10-day injured list. Prior to landing on the 10-day IL in mid-May due to a left groin strain, Donovan was slashing .274/.386/.452 with one steal, three home runs and eight RBI over 101 plate appearances.
