Nick Loftin 1B | KC
Royals' Nick Loftin: Taking seat Sunday
Loftin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
He'll give way to Garrett Hampson at second base for the series finale. Loftin had manned the keystone in seven of the Royals' previous eight games and should remain Kansas City's primary option at the position until Michael Massey (back) returns from the injured list.

Nicky Lopez 3B | ARI
White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Idle against lefty
Lopez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.
The lefty-hitting Lopez will take a seat while southpaw Jordan Montgomery starts for the Diamondbacks. Danny Mendick will fill in for Lopez at the keystone.

Michael Stefanic 2B | TOR
Angels' Michael Stefanic: Getting look atop batting order
Stefanic will start at second base and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Giants, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.
The Giants are opening the game with a left-hander (Erik Miller) on the hill, so the right-handed-hitting Stefanic will displace the Angels' usual leadoff man -- the lefty-hitting Nolan Schanuel -- atop the lineup. Stefanic had started in two of the previous three games while batting ninth in the order on both occasions, and he could end up serving as the Angels' preferred option at second base until Brandon Drury (hamstring) returns from the injured list.

Jared Triolo 3B | PIT
Pirates' Jared Triolo: Getting fourth straight start
Triolo will start at third base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Rockies.
Triolo will pick up his fourth straight start, but two came while shortstop Oneil Cruz was sitting out due to a sore ankle. Cruz is back in the lineup Sunday, but Triolo will get the nod at third base in place of a resting Ke'Bryan Hayes. Expect Triolo to return to a utility role when the Pirates open their series against the Reds on Monday.

Zack Gelof 2B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: On bench for matinee
Gelof is not in the lineup for the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Twins.
Gelof will get an extended breather of sorts, having also sat out Saturday, but he will likely be back in there to face Chris Paddack in the nightcap. After breaking out to the tune of an .841 OPS, 14 homers and 14 steals in just 69 games last season, Gelof has struggled to a .558 OPS, five homers and seven steals through 52 games in 2024.

Jorge Polanco 2B | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Singles in first rehab game
Polanco (hamstring) started at designated hitter in High-A Everett's win over Eugene on Saturday and went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts.
Polanco was lifted for a pinch hitter in the ninth inning, but he got a solid amount of plate appearances in during his first game action of any kind since May 26. The veteran infielder is slated to play with the AquaSox again Sunday before shifting his rehab assignment to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, per Ryan Division of The Seattle Times.

Luis Rengifo 3B | LAA
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Swipes 18th bag
Rengifo went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-3 victory versus San Francisco.
Rengifo doubled in the first inning but was left stranded at third. In the seventh, he produced the game-winning run on a two-out RBI single that he followed with a stolen base. After swiping just six bases in 126 games last year, Rengifo has taken off with 18 thefts through 54 contests this season. That alone has given him ample fantasy value, and he's boosted his stock with a .315/.360/.437 slash line while adding four homers, 20 RBI and 26 runs.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: On bench again Sunday
Mateo is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Mateo will remain on the bench in favor of Ramon Urias -- with Jordan Westburg at second base -- after Urias went 2-for-4 in Saturday's win. While it's a second straight absence for Mateo after four consecutive starts fresh off the 7-day concussion list, there has been no hint of an injury setback.
-
Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Extends hitting streak
Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored Saturday against Colorado.
Gonzales tallied Pittsburgh's first run of the game with a solo home run in the fourth inning, his fifth long ball of the season. That knock also extended his hitting streak to six games, and he's hitting .292 with nine RBI and five runs scored across 12 contests in June.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | HOU
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Resumes all activity
Rodgers (hamstring) has engaged in all baseball activities in recent days, MLB.com reports.
Rodgers has been running and hitting soft-toss pitching, though he took another step forward by doing light fielding drills Saturday. The team has said they expect Rodgers to return from the 10-day injured list shortly after he's eligible for activation Tuesday. He'll likely complete a brief minor-league rehab assignment prior to being reinstated.
