  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Pops 15th homer

Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 11-7 loss to the Reds.

Gimenez has homered twice in his last three games, and he's batting a strong .395 (17-for-43) over his last 11 contests. His long ball Tuesday gave him 15 on the year, though he'd have to stay hot to match his career high of 17 from last season. The second baseman is slashing .254/.317/.403 with 30 stolen bases, 62 RBI and 75 runs scored over 151 games in 2023.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Returns to starting lineup

Marte started at second base and went 2-for-4 with walk, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's 15-4 win over the White Sox.

Marte did not play in Sunday's game due to an illness and was held out of the starting lineup Monday, although he entered that game as a pinch hitter. He's hit in five straight games when starting, going 10-for-20 with three home runs, a double, six RBI and seven runs scored. He's up to 94 runs scored, three shy of the career-high 97 he had in 2019. The Diamondbacks have five games remaining while competing for a wild-card spot, so Marte should be a lineup staple going forward.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Tallies three hits

Altuve went 3-for-5 with one RBI in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Mariners.

Altuve was productive from atop the order, but the Astros couldn't get him home. This was his seventh multi-hit effort in his last 10 games, and he's hitting .386 (17-for-44) in that span. The second baseman is up to a .315/.399/.534 slash line with 17 home runs, 51 RBI, 75 runs scored and 13 stolen bases over 86 contests this season.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Smacks homer in win

Drury went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Rangers.

Drury put the Angels ahead 3-1 in the first inning, and they never looked back. The infielder has gone 13-for-35 (.371) with three homers and 10 RBI over his last eight games. For the season, he's at a .260/.304/.486 slash line with 24 long balls, 80 RBI, 57 runs scored, 28 doubles and three triples over 121 contests. He's been one of the Angels' most consistent hitters this year while seeing steady playing time around the infield.

  • Red Sox's Enmanuel Valdez: Three hits, homer in loss

Valdez went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's 9-7 loss against the Rays.

Valdez got the Red Sox on the board in the fifth inning with a three-run blast off Zach Eflin, his sixth homer of the year, before driving in a fourth run with a double in the eighth. Valdez has been on fire since he was recalled from Triple-A on Friday, going 6-for-10 with four extra-base hits in three games. Overall, the rookie infielder is batting .273 with a .793 OPS, 19 RBI, 15 runs scored and four stolen bases as he looks to work his way into Boston's 2024 plans.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Marlins' Luis Arraez: Out again with ankle injury

Arraez (ankle) remains out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Mets.

Arraez sprained his left ankle one week ago while taking pregame infield practice and then aggravated the injury Saturday when he slipped on the dugout steps in Miami. Jon Berti will play second base and fifth Tuesday at Citi Field.

  • Blue Jays' Davis Schneider: Sitting once again

Schneider is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

Schneider is without a hit in his past 30 at-bats and finds himself on the bench Tuesday for the fourth time in Toronto's past six games. The 24-year-old had one of the hottest bats in the majors after debuting in early August with seven homers and a 1.415 OPS in his first 21 contests, but his regression over the last couple weeks has been steep. Cavan Biggio has taken on a larger role of late and is batting cleanup as Toronto's second baseman Tuesday.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Westburg is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Westburg went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run Sunday in Cleveland to end and 0-for-11 slump, but he'll take a seat for Tuesday's series opener versus Washington. Ramon Urias will man the hot corner and bat ninth.

  • Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Recalled from Indianapolis

The Pirates recalled Gonzales from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Gonzales is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies, but he could get a start or two in the final week of the 2023 campaign. The 24-year-old middle infielder has struggled to a .216/.268/.353 batting line across his first 112 major-league plate appearances this season.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Two-hit day in shutout loss

Rojas went 2-for-3 with a double and a run in a loss to the Astros on Monday.

Rojas' bat was the only real sign of life for the Mariners in an absolutely moribund night for the offense. The No. 9 hitter's multi-hit effort was his first since Sept. 5 and snapped an 0-for-13 funk that had encompassed his previous five games.
