  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Slugs 29th homer

Albies went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 10-6 loss to the Cardinals.

The second baseman took Miles Mikolas deep in the first inning, one of four Atlanta homers on the night, but all four were solo shots. It's Albies' first long ball since returning from the IL in late August, giving him 29 on the season, but he's been locked in at the plate lately, batting .407 (11-for-27) over a six-game hitting streak.

  • Nolan Gorman 2B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Goes yard twice Tuesday

Gorman went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 10-6 win over Atlanta.

A two-run blast in the third inning off Michael Soroka was followed by a solo shot in the ninth off Michael Tonkin, as Gorman snapped a 16-game homer drought that extended back to Aug, 4. In nine contests since recovering from a back issue and being activated off the IL, Gorman's batting just .133 (4-for-30) with 17 strikeouts, but three of his four hits and five of his six RBI during that stretch have come in the last two games.

  • Ronny Mauricio 2B | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Drives in first run

Mauricio went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 11-5 win over the Nationals.

The 22-year-old had the least impressive night of the four Mets rookies in the lineup, but his two-out single in the eighth inning gave Mauricio his first career RBI. He's gone an impressive 6-for-15 (.400) in four games since his promotion with a double and two steals, and Mauricio figures to be a fixture at second base for New York over the final month of the season.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Rehab could begin Friday

India (foot) could begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville on Friday, if he continues on a positive path, MLB.com reports.

India's left foot is pain free, but the Reds are taking a deliberate approach in building up the infielder to avoid a setback that could end his season prematurely. If he begins the rehab assignment this weekend as hoped, he could return from the 10-day injured list as soon as Sept. 12.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: On historic tear

Altuve went 3-for-5 with three solo home runs in Tuesday's win over the Rangers.

After hitting two home runs in the series opener, Altuve collected three more long balls against the Rangers on Tuesday. The second baseman notched a homer in each of the first three innings, two off Nathan Eovaldi and one off Dane Dunning. Per MLB on FOX, Altuve became the fourth player in MLB history to hit three home runs in the first three innings of a game, while the outing also marked Altuve's first career regular-season three-homer performance.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Smacks 11th homer

Massey went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Tuesday's win over the White Sox.

Massey was one of three Royals to tag Dylan Cease for long balls Tuesday, with Massey's coming via a solo shot in the fourth inning. The second baseman has now racked up four extra-base hits across his last four games, a stretch in which he's batting 6-for-15 (.400) with five runs scored and three RBI.

  • Joseph Ortiz 2B | MIL

Orioles' Joey Ortiz: Managing oblique issue

Ortiz was removed from Triple-A Norfolk's lineup Tuesday due to left oblique tightness, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Ortiz's removal was labeled as precautionary, so he may be able to rejoin the Tides' lineup within the next few days. The 25-year-old had a .448 OPS over 15 games in his first taste of the big leagues earlier this season, but he's enjoyed a strong campaign at Norfolk with a .321/.378/.504 slash line in 88 contests.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Sitting versus lefty

Frazier isn't in the Orioles' lineup Tuesday against the Angels.

The fact southpaw Reid Detmers is starting on the mound will force the lefty-hitting Frazier to remain on the bench for the beginning of Tuesday's game. Jordan Westburg will slide to second base while Frazier sits, moving Gunnar Henderson to third and pulling Jorge Mateo into the lineup at shortstop.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Takes seat Tuesday

Sosa is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.

Sosa has been the White Sox's primary option at second base over the past couple weeks, and he's likely to remain in that role since he has an .820 OPS in his last 15 games. However, it'll be Elvis Andrus that starts at the keystone Tuesday versus Kansas City righty Brady Singer.

  • Coco Montes 2B | TB

Rockies' Coco Montes: Designated for assignment

Montes was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Tuesday.

Montes has posted strong numbers this season with Triple-A Albuquerque, but he's struggled in a couple of different major-league stints and is now off the 40-man roster in Colorado. Cole Tucker will fill the vacancy.
