Guardians' Amed Rosario: Day-to-day with back issue
Guardians manager Terry Francona told reporters before Sunday's game against the Nationals that Rosario is day-to-day with a back issue, Byron Kerr of MLB.com reports.
Rosario is out of action for Sunday's contest against Washington, with Francona telling reporters the 27-year-old has a "balky" back at this point. Gabriel Arias is hitting second as the starting shortstop against Patrick Corbin and the Nationals, and he'll likely see the majority of reps at the position while Rosario is out.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Marlins' Luis Arraez: Returns to starting lineup
Arraez (finger) is hitting third and playing second base Sunday against the Diamondbacks, Joe Frisaro of ManOnSecondBaseball.com reports.
Arraez made an appearance as a pinch hitter during Saturday's game against Arizona, and the 2022 batting champion is feeling well enough for defensive duties against Zac Gallen and the D-Backs. He's off to a sensational start with a .511 average and six RBI over the first two weeks of the campaign.

Amed Rosario 3B | NYY
Guardians' Amed Rosario: Takes seat against Nationals
Rosario is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Nationals.
Rosario is off to a slow start to the 2023 campaign with a .609 OPS over 69 plate appearances, but this appears to just be a rest day for the 27-year-old shortstop. Gabriel Arias will handle short and hit second in his absence.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Sitting against Marlins
Marte is out of the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Marlins, Paige Leckie of MLB.com reports.
Marte takes a seat after going 1-for-7 over the first two games of the series. Geraldo Perdomo will handle second-base duties and hit second in his absence.

Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Scores twice, adds steal in win
Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Nationals.
Gimenez has four multi-hit efforts and three 0-fers in his last seven games. While that's not great from a consistency standpoint, he's hitting .305 (18-for-59) through 15 games this season. He's up to five steals, one home run, five RBI and an impressive 17 runs scored despite starting just one game hitting higher than fifth in the order.

Sam Haggerty LF | TEX
Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Dealing with head injury
Haggerty is currently dealing with a head injury and he could be placed on the seven-day concussion list, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Haggerty is out of the lineup for Saturday's contest against the Rockies, but he likely would have been out anyway with a right-hander on the mound for Colorado in Ryan Feltner. The Mariners selected the contract of Jose Caballero to provide some depth in the infield. Haggerty has been playing everyday against southpaws, but even if healthy, he risks losing playing time when Dylan Moore (oblique) comes off the injured list to fill a similar role.

Jose Caballero 2B | NYY
Mariners' Jose Caballero: Contract selected from Triple-A
The Mariners selected the contract of Caballero from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Cabellero is being called up from the Rainiers as insurance for Sam Haggerty after Haggerty banged his head on a diving play during Friday's win. Cabellero is unlikely to see much playing time in what could be a short stint on the Seattle bench.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Reaches four times, steals two bags
Donovan went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 6-3 extra-inning loss to Pittsburgh.
Donovan was effective at the top of the lineup for St. Louis. The steals were his first two of the season in a game where the Cardinals swiped four bags against catcher Jason Delay and the Pittsburgh pitching staff. Donovan now owns a four-game hitting streak while hitting safely in five of his last six contests, and he also didn't strike out for the first time since April 10.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Out of lineup Saturday
Lowe is not in the lineup Saturday against the Blue Jays.
Taylor Walls will start at second base and bat sixth with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the bump for Toronto. Lowe, who's slashing .324/.444/.757 on the year, should be back in there Sunday. He's produced five home runs and 12 RBI through 12 games played.
