  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Three hits against Milwaukee

McNeil went 3-for-3 in Tuesday's loss to the Brewers.

All three hits were singles, and the rest of the Mets' lineup managed only five other knocks in a 9-0 loss. McNeil is batting .292 (7-for-24) through six games to begin the season, but he has only one double, one run and two RBI to show for it as the New York offense as a whole tries to find its way out of an early funk.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

    Marlins' Luis Arraez: Resting Wednesday

Arraez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Arraez will sit for the first time this season after slashing .478/.520/.522 with two runs and two RBI through the Marlins' first six games. Garrett Hampson will replace Arraez at the keystone and will bat ninth, while center fielder Jazz Chisholm assumes Arraez's usual duties as Miami's leadoff man.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Sitting out Wednesday

Hernandez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

After going hitless with four strikeouts in eight at-bats over the first two games of the series, Hernandez will get his first day off of the season. Yu Chang will cover shortstop in Hernandez's stead.

  • Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM

Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Swats first career homer

Bae went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Red Sox.

The 23-year-old sent a Nick Pivetta offering the other way in the second inning and just sliced it over the Green Monster, giving Roansy Contreras and the Pirates' bullpen all the run support they would need. Bae is just 3-for-14 (.214) through four games, but he's got a double and two steals in addition to Tuesday's production, and as long as he's getting consistent playing time between second base and center field, his speed and developing power should give him some fantasy value.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Plays role in small-ball win

Rojas batted leadoff and went 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-6 win over San Diego.

The Diamondbacks' offense came alive for the first time this season, with most of the production coming in the final four innings Tuesday when Arizona scored seven runs. Much of it can be chalked up to small ball, including Rojas' perfectly-executed slide into home on a double steal. Those were two of five stolen bases for Arizona. Rojas has shared third base with Evan Longoria, getting starts against right-handers. After an off-day, the D-backs return to action Thursday against the Dodgers and right-hander Dustin May.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Drives in winner vs. Guardians

Kemp went 2-for-5 with a walkoff single, a run scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the Guardians.

With the score tied at 3-3, Kemp slashed a single to right to score Ryan Noda in the bottom of the ninth and give the Guardians the win. The veteran infielder/outfielder also came around to score in the second after stealing his first base of the season. Kemp won't provide much power and plays in a lethargic lineup, but he should hit at the top of the group against right-handers and does provide some upside on the bases.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Strong game Tuesday

Hoerner went 3-for-6 with a double and three runs scored in Tuesday's 12-5 win over the Reds.

Hoerner set the table as the leadoff hitter in the offensive outburst, and the second baseman is now batting .292 through five games with six runs scored. As long as Hoerner sits atop the order and stays hot at the plate, he should be able to score plenty of runs. He's also a threat to run, which makes him an appealing fantasy option in most formats.

  • Miguel Vargas 3B | CHW

Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Will be re-evaluated Thursday

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said prior to Tuesday's game against the Rockies that Vargas is dealing with soreness in his right thumb, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Roberts said that Vargas can swing the bat, but he's feeling discomfort when throwing the baseball. The rookie infielder is out of the lineup Tuesday, and with the Dodgers having a day off on Wednesday, he'll be re-evaluated before Thursday's game against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.

  • Miguel Vargas 3B | CHW

Dodgers' Miguel Vargas: Out Tuesday vs. Rockies

Vargas (thumb) is not in the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Rockies, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Vargas was hit in his right thumb Monday, and while he was able to stay in the game, the Dodgers will give the 23-year-old at least a day off to recover. Mookie Betts starts at second base, and Jason Heyward will hit ninth and play right field.

  • Nolan Gorman 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Not in lineup Tuesday

Gorman is out of the lineup Tuesday against Atlanta.

The lefty-hitting Gorman is off to a rocking start this season, but Juan Yepez will take a turn at designated hitter Tuesday with Atlanta throwing left-hander Dylan Dodd.
