  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Not starting Saturday

Lewis is not in the Twins' starting lineup against the Mariners on Saturday.

Lewis has gone 0-for-26 over his last seven games and will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout. Brooks Lee will get the start at the hot corner and bat third.

  • Shay Whitcomb 3B | HOU

Astros' Shay Whitcomb: Joins big club

The Astros recalled Whitcomb from Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday.

With Chas McCormick (oblique) moving to the injured list Saturday, the Astros will call up Whitcomb to give the team a bench bat capable of playing nearly every position. The 26-year-old has been in the minors all year, putting together a .275/.357/.599 slash line with 18 home runs, 38 RBI, 37 runs scored and six steals in 53 games.

  • Coby Mayo 3B | BAL

Orioles' Coby Mayo: Back with big club

The Orioles recalled Mayo from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday. He will start at designated hitter and bat sixth Saturday against the White Sox.

With Ryan Mountcastle (hamstring) moving to the injured list, Mayo will rejoin the active roster to give Baltimore some additional infield depth. The 23-year-old went just 1-for-12 during his previous stint in the big leagues this season and has slashed .180/.265/.328 across 61 plate appearances since being sent back down to Triple-A.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Knocks in three

Jung went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Friday's 11-1 win over the Cardinals.

Jung gave the Rangers an early lead with a run-scoring single in the first inning and then drove in another two runs during the team's four-run sixth inning. He joined the eruption by a team that entered the night averaging just 2.4 runs per game over the previous 13 contests. Jung has hit safely in 10 of the last 11, going 12-for-42 (.286) with five RBI, two steals and three runs scored during that stretch.

  • Coby Mayo 3B | BAL

Orioles' Coby Mayo: Could be recalled from minors

Mayo is on his way to Baltimore and could be recalled by the Orioles, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Mayo was scratched from Triple-A Norfolk's lineup Friday so that he could head to Baltimore, but it remains uncertain whether the Orioles will officially recall him from the minor leagues. Ryan Mountcastle is dealing with hamstring discomfort, which could prompt the major-league club to enlist Mayo's services. Mayo went just 1-for-12 during a brief stint in the majors earlier this season and is only 5-for-53 for his career with the O's, but he remains one of the top prospects in Baltimore's farm system.

  • Addison Barger 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Scores three times Friday

Barger went 1-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and two additional runs scored in Friday's 11-7 over the Athletics.

Barger was brought home in the second and third frames before belting a solo home run off Grant Holman in the sixth. Barger is up to three home runs on the year and has a .869 OPS with one steal and 10 RBI over 96 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

  • Ernie Clement 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Logs four hits Friday

Clement went 4-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 11-7 win over the Athletics.

Clement came around to score in the second inning on a Myles Straw RBI single before belting a solo home run off Jeffrey Springs in the third. Clement has gone deep in back-to-back games and has logged all three of his home runs this season in May. He has slashed .298/.343/.457 with one steal and 12 RBI in 104 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

  • Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA

Angels' Yoan Moncada: Still out Friday

Moncada (knee) is not in Friday's lineup against the Guardians.

He ran on the field before the game and the team waited to see how he felt before finalizing the lineup, so it seems like Moncada is day-to-day after being removed from Wednesday's game with knee soreness. Luis Rengifo will man third base and bat ninth while Scott Kingery starts at the keystone, batting eighth.

  • Rays' Junior Caminero: Collects career-high six RBI

Caminero went 3-for-6 with a home run, a double, six RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 13-3 win over the Astros.

The six RBI were a career high for Caminero, who homered in his second straight game and appears to be heating up at the plate recently. Over his last seven outings (29 at-bats), the slugging third baseman is batting .414 with three home runs, five doubles, 12 RBI and seven runs scored. Caminero also has five multi-hit games during this stretch.

  • Ernie Clement 2B | TOR

Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Homers, drives in five

    Clement went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and a two-run double in Thursday's 12-0 win over the A's.

All five of Clement's RBI came in Toronto's eight-run second inning. He opened the scoring with a homer off Jacob Lopez, his second of the season, before driving in two more runs with a double in his second at-bat in the frame. Clement had gone 14 games without an extra-base hit prior to Thursday -- he went 8-for-46 (.174) with a .443 OPS in that span. Overall, the 29-year-old infielder is slashing .256/.301/.344 with 16 RBI, 17 runs scored and two stolen bases across 176 plate appearances this year. Clement should continue to serve as the Jays' primary second baseman in the absence of Andres Gimenez (quadriceps).
