Ramirez returned to action after missing two games due to a sore left hand. There was some concern about the injury, which is the same hand that was operated on in June, but it looks like the Guardians' star has bounced back quickly.

Donovan is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Tigers.

Donovan returned from a nearly three-month long absence this week, going 1-for-7 at the plate in the first two games of the series. The Tigers are starting southpaw Framber Valdez in the series finale, but the left-handed-hitting Donovan not being in the lineup could be more about easing him back into action following a long layoff. Leo Rivas is handling third base in Donovan's stead.

Mayo is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Angels.

Mayo went deep in Wednesday's victory over the Halos, but he will get a break as the Orioles go for the sweep. Gunnar Henderson is getting a designated-hitter day, and Jeremiah Jackson is entering the lineup at second base while Jackson Holliday shifts to shortstop.

Ramirez was held out of the lineup each of the previous two days while battling soreness in his surgically repaired left hand, but he's been cleared to return for Thursday's series finale. The star third baseman is just 8-for-41 with zero extra-base knocks in 11 games since coming off the injured list.

Guzman is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Baltimore.

After starting five consecutive games, Guzman has now been absent from the lineup two days in a row. The rookie infielder is just 6-for-40 (.150) at the dish since the All-Star break. Guzman will yield to Vaughn Grissom at third base again, and Oswald Peraza will cover second base.

Caminero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Colorado.

Caminero extended Tampa's lead to 3-0 in the third inning with a 449-foot blast off Tomoyuki Sugano, his 33rd homer this season, good for second most in the majors. Over his last six games, Caminero's gone 8-for-23 (.348) with four long balls, boosting his slash line to .284/.373/.559 with 71 RBI, 70 runs scored and two steals across 498 plate appearances this year.

Mayo went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-2 win against the Angels on Wednesday.

Mayo went back-to-back with Tyler O'Neill in the fourth inning with a long ball to almost the exact same spot in left-center field. The 24-year-old Mayo is continuing his hot hitting from July with extra-base hits in his last two starts. In 14 games since the All-Star break, he has a .935 OPS with six extra-base hits (three homers), a steal, seven RBI and nine runs.

Encarnacion-Strand will start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Angels.

The Orioles' decision to deal Taylor Ward to the Mariners prior to Monday's trade deadline appears to have reopened playing time for Encarnacion-Strand, who will be included in the lineup for the fourth game in a row after starting just once in the four contests prior to that. The 26-year-old brings intriguing power potential to the table, but a 26.5 percent career strikeout rate in the big leagues has gotten in the way of him enjoying sustained success. He's kept his rate at a much more palatable 19.1 percent so far during his time in Baltimore, albeit in small sample of just 47 plate appearances.

Guzman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Guzman had started in each of the Angels' last five contests, but he'll get a break Wednesday while Vaughn Grissom covers the hot corner. The 22-year-old has been in a rut at the plate since the All-Star break, going just 6-for-40 (.150 average) with one home run, one stolen base, three runs and two RBI.

The newly recalled Angel Genao will make his MLB debut as the Guardians' starter at third base in place of Ramirez, whom manager Stephen Vogt said is "definitely progressing really, really well," according to Mason Horodyski of News 5 Cleveland. The Guardians are seemingly viewing Ramirez as day-to-day and are optimistic he won't need to go back on the injured list.
