Emmanuel Rivera 3B | BAL
Royals' Emmanuel Rivera: Handling everyday role
Rivera will start at third base and bat eighth Wednesday against the Yankees.
The Royals' decision to demote Edward Olivares to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday looks like it will clear the way for Rivera to take on an everyday role at third base, while Hunter Dozier will cover Olivares' spot in right field. While starting in six of the Royals' last seven games, Rivera has gone 5-for-21 with two runs and two RBI.

Gio Urshela 3B | MIN
Yankees' Gio Urshela: Receives PRP shot
Urshela (hamstring) has been shut down recently after he received a platelet-rich plasma injection, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Urshela was hoping to return from the injured list Wednesday, but he recently suffered a setback. Manager Aaron Boone is hopeful that the third baseman will be able to ramp up his workload Wednesday. However, Boone also said that it's too early to tell when Urshela will return to game action.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Resting Wednesday
Moncada is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.
Moncada, Tim Anderson and Luis Robert will all receive breathers on getaway day so that the White Sox can all of their key regulars fresh for Thursday's highly anticipated "Field of Dreams" matchup with the Yankees in Dyersville, Iowa. Jake Lamb will pick up a rare start at third base in place of Moncada, who is slashing an underwhelming .200/.269/.411 with five home runs and one stolen base in 25 games since the All-Star break.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Twins' Josh Donaldson: Resting Wednesday
Donaldson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
After a three-game absence due to a sore hamstring, Donaldson rejoined the Minnesota lineup as a designated hitter in Tuesday's 4-3 win, finishing 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. The Twins haven't indicated that Donaldson suffered a setback with the hamstring in his return to action, so he may just be receiving some rest Wednesday in a day game after a night game. Brent Rooker will serve as the Twins' DH in the series finale, while Luis Arraez fills in at third base.

Willians Astudillo 3B | MIA
Twins' Willians Astudillo: Slugs decisive homer
Astudillo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in a victory over the White Sox on Tuesday.
Minnesota was trailing by a run entering the sixth inning, but Astudillo turned things around with a two-run shot to left field that gave the Twins a 4-3 lead. That ended up being the final score, as neither team was able to cross the plate over the remainder of the game. Astudillo entered the contest with only one hit in nine at-bats in August, and he has been riding the pine at the start of games more often than not lately.

Jeimer Candelario 3B | LAA
Tigers' Jeimer Candelario: Homers in win
Candelario went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's win over the Orioles.
Candelario connected for his eighth home run of the season in the eighth inning, bringing his RBI total to 41. The counting stats through 105 games are a bit disappointing for the infielder, though he's offset that somewhat with a solid .276 average and .361 on-base percentage. If Candelario keeps making consistent contact, perhaps he can finish the season with a flurry in the home run and RBI departments, as he should remain in the heart of Detroit's order most days.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Resuming rehab Friday
Bregman (hamstring) will rejoin Triple-A Sugar Land to continue his rehab assignment Friday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
Bregman reached his 20-day limit on minor-league rehab assignments, so he is spending a couple days in Houston before returning to Sugar Land. The third baseman is expected to return sometime next week, barring any setbacks once his rehab gets going again.

Josh Donaldson 3B | MIL
Twins' Josh Donaldson: Serving as designated hitter
Donaldson (hamstring) will bat third as the designated hitter in Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The oft-injured veteran has dealt with hamstring issues for the past two weeks, starting just two games in the middle of that stretch before heading right back to the bench. The Twins will likely manage him carefully down the stretch given his health history, but he's been effective when available this year, hitting .245/.355/.468 with 16 homers in 87 games.

Ramon Urias 3B | STL
Orioles' Ramon Urias: Back in lineup Tuesday
Urias (upper leg) is back in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Tigers, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Urias missed the previous two contests with soreness in his upper leg. The issue seems to have subsided, as he'll bat second and man the keystone Tuesday.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
White Sox's Yoan Moncada: Slugs solo shot in rout
Moncada went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run Monday in the White Sox's 11-1 win over the Twins.
Moncada put the finishing touches on the White Sox's blowout victory, taking Charlie Barnes deep 433 feet to center field with one out in the top of the ninth inning. The home run was only the second in 18 games for Moncada, who hasn't made up for the lack of power production by running. He's attempted five steals all season while getting caught twice, as the top-to-bottom strength of the White Sox lineup has presumably had a hand in Moncada running the bases less aggressively.
